Hey guys im brand new to this website. Now I'm looking for some advice if anyone can help. For a while now I've been getting more and more into UFC and mixed martial arts in general. I've messed around alot submission wrestling with my friends, and I've learned my way around submissions, and positions alike. Some people have told me I should take up the sport, and I've sort of been wanting to further my knowledge in the mixed martial arts world. All I basically want to know is, where should someone whose looking to fight go from here? Also what type of styles, knowledge, and martial arts do I need to know to be successful in the sport.

Have you heard of Great Lakes MMA? I looked up all the training camps for your area, and this is the camp most recognized for newer members as far as I can tell. They seem to have very positive feedback, and they specialize in a wide variety of styles that include Boxing, Kick Boxing, Brazilian Jujitsu, Russian Sambo and Muay Thai. It's located at 3031 Cass Rd. in Traverse City. If you don't like this gym, I'm sure there are others you can find with some minor searching. Here's some info on the place.
