I don't like squats because the weight is too hard on my shoulders.

ur not doing it right then, ur body has a natural shelf for the weight and u must be putting it on a bad spot.

I might not be doing them right, but was squatting a lot of weight for my size. Even with a pad on the bar, it still hurt more than I liked and left huge strawberries on my shoulders.

I am happy doing plyo now and am not missing doing weights one bit.

BOX SQUATS ARE THE SHIT...

PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING BOYS!

I used to play football in university...i blew my ACL one season... Took me 7 months to get back into squatting again. I had no time to sit and do a hypertrophy phase and knew i had to squat often to get my strength back. BTW, i squatted like 455 in testing that year before the ACL went.

Box squatting is FAR EASIER on your knees...think of sitting back on the box and you will find the relationship from knee to foot(ie knees over ankes) is WAY better and less stress on the knees, especially for us taller guys...

I came in to testing after 3 months box squatting and regular squatting...in fact box squats became my staple warm up exercise...it teaches you to move in the proper way.

I came into testing...hit 475...
