Tim Boetsch didn't exactly make a convincing case for a UFC middleweight title shot.

Unlike Chris Weidman's emphatic win over Mark Munoz a few weeks prior, Boetsch's close victory over Hector Lombard at Saturday's UFC 149 event won't have fans clamoring for his immediate shot at champion Anderson Silva.

UFC president Dana White, though, is willing to give the "Barbarian" a pass.

Still think Boetsch needs another win against a top or decent opponent. Yes, he won against Lombard, who had a 25-fight win streak, but it didn't do anything; move him up or down.

I think it was a nice win that will get him a fight with Weidman. to befair to both, its a fight that would determine who fights Anderson next. I would see Weidman winning but it would be that fight your talking about that Boetsch needs

Boetsch is no where near ready to fight Silva. The last fight against Lombard was dull and he only won by flinging kicks every so often. A lot of people had their bets on Lombard winning in the first round by KO. Not too sure where his past stamina was in that fight - some people believe he was playing it safe for a UFC fight - others think that maybe since he's off the roids we won't see his old hardcore fighting ways.

It could come down to when they want to get Silva a next fight.

Maybe also a Belcher/Boetsch match. If Silva fights soon against possibly Weidman.

Boestch gained very little ground

I think boestch vs weidman for next shot
Belfort vs belcher

But if bisping beats stann. I say give him the shot

im thinkin belcher vs boetsch next. they both have had some pretty big wins lately but still no wins over real top guys. belchers win over rousimar was very impressive because of how he did it, but rousimar was by no means a top contender. same goes for boetsch. to me it just makes sense

I like Tim Boetsch, but please don't waste one of Anderson's fights on him. No offence meant to Boetsch, but let's be real here. He got absolutely demolished by Okami until he went caveman and caught him off guard, then he won a really boring decision against a guy who has never fought in the UFC.

He does not deserve a title shot, and Anderson would murder him. Please give it to Weidman and then see how the division looks after that fight. Put Boetsch against Munoz or someone like that.
