Hopefully he's the only one to fail. He probably felt the pressure of fighitng for the title. This is unfortunate. When will athletes realize it's not worth it?

At least he lost. It's bigger news when a fighter tests positive after a win. This is bad for Gandulla, but he did it to himself.

It is very interesting that positive tests normally turn up on losing fighters.

I agree completly, I think was watching an Inside MMA episode last month and in about 80 percent of the fights that a someone tested positive for steroids, it was the losing fighter. It seems they are doing it to A. Recover faster from an injury or B. A desperate attempt to gain an advantage over an opponent that outclasses them.

Now that they are testing everyone, not just the title fights maybe these guys will get a clue. Oh an for F@#k's sakes save the blunt for after the fight... nothing is worse than a fighter having a decision stripped from them because they smoked one up before they fight(a la Diaz/Gomi).... its not going to help you, and it could ruin the best damn win of your career!

I agree. Problem is it stays in some guys systems longer. This can be as much 6 weeks for a regular smoker. I, for one, don't think they should be testing for pot in these. I think they should only be testing for performance enhancers.

I get the feeling that most of the fighters that use steroids and lose aren't very confident in the fact that they can beat their opponent. It would be illogical to think you're going to dominate your opponent and still take steroids. This means that the roider is both A) Probably a lesser fighter than his opponent and B) Mentally unprepared for the fight anyways if he thinks he is going to lose. The fact that 80 % of those that test positive are losers isn't all that surprising.

What? Hey...did you know this? Pot is illegal! I bet you get tested at your job for marijuana. I know I did. Just wanted to make sure you knew.
