Any idea when all fights will be available to bet on?

As soon as enough people make their picks for those other fights. With only a week left, I'm sure people will begin trickling in.

Yeah, last I checked, still needed about 300 picks or so for those fights to reach the magic number of around 600 to be wagered upon.

I have a bad feeling that the site will be shut down within 2011.

EDIT: I agree that overhauling needs to be done.

The activity on this site has been slowly dying before our eyes for quite some time now and that's undeniable. First it was fewer and fewer people posting and now it's finally gotten to a point where it's affecting the game. The secondary league has nearly no interest anymore and it seems the primary league is unfortunately going down the same path.

I've been here since the beginning and will be here until the end. The end just seems to be approaching faster than I'd like. I truly think a serious look into revamping/overhauling the site/game in some way needs to be considered before all of the players "disappear like a fart in the wind" (to quote my favorite movie).

I'm sure there will be the few people saying, "no, this site/game is totally fine... it's not going anywhere, etc. etc." But like I said before, the total lack of interest (besides a few die-hards on the site) is undeniable.

Long live MMAPlayground! (hopefully for years to come!)

Very true. The forums have died down so much, most of my camp and others stick to their camp forums. It had a lot to do with members getting banned left and right who were quality posters. I stay to the end, but honestly the playground is not the first site I look on everytime I come onto the pc. The site really needs as you said revamping/overhauling to the game.

I've noticed this as well and it's sad. This site was jumping when I first joined, and now it's gotten to the point where I know most of the poster's first names. I don't know what needs to be done, but something needs to be done.

Something needs to be done. This site is by far the best of its kind. i was a long time user of Mmapools.com but the horrible updating on events led me to look elsewhere. Updates here are 100x better and there doesnt seem to be anything else out there.

I kind of wonder if people are late to make their picks because they wait for the betting odds to be posted, but without enough picks it takes forever....vicious circle...

Mmapools.com did have a superior betting system based on opening all fights according to a certain sportsbook and then allowing user based pick percentages to determine and update the betting lines up until the day of the event. This added the bonus of being able to post an early bet and if one watched closely you would come across better lines down the road.

The mods need to read this post and talk to the creator of the playground.

If nothing else, create a lower player count minimum to get wagers and stats per event.

We know the mods care and I know that Fleek is even trying new things to generate interest for the site, too. He created an MMAPlayground twitter account. That's a new and useful way to reach new people. I know that not everyone is a fan of twitter and think that's it's relatively stupid, but it's the wave of the future.

I honestly find out way more information about sports news via Twitter than from anywhere else. I usually find out breaking stories before anyone finds out about them. I knew Cliff Lee was going to Philly 45 minutes before the major media outlets got wind of anything. Hell, by the time they were reporting that "The Yankees were out of the running for Lee," I knew he had signed with Philly.

The PG can totally make use of their twitter account and actually generate quite a bit of new interest from internet users. It just needs to be done a certain way. Rocking the Twitter is just one way we can create more interest. This is one of the few sites I visit on a daily basis and don't want it to go anywhere for quite some time.

I know a lot of people are saying that the mods/owner needs to do something about an overhaul/revamp, but I don't think that's the issue. The game itself works really smoothly when everyone is participating, the problem is that site traffic and forum posters have dwindled so much that it's now affecting the game.

I constantly tell my friends about the Playground and have convinced several to join the site, but I'd be happy to help doing anything that I possibly can to generate more interest. All the people in charge need to do is ask.

Don't forget to lower secondary league as well, it has no wagers for the last two events.

I definitely think it's the forums that spark interest in this site. Interesting conversations that people want to come back to and add to is what generates interest and traffic, no? It doesn't even matter if it's the same things being talked about elsewhere. My $.02 is that they have to loosen the reigns and let people say what they want, even if it is offensive crap. That's what gets people interested.
