When I initially saw the finishing knee I was sure it hit the head.
But after watching the replay it clearly looked like the one which hit him in the face didn't even come close!
Anyone else feel this way or are my eyes just bad?

To me it looked like it barely grazed the side of Rich's head, at least on the slo-mo. I'm also curious about the first knee, first time I've ever seen a knee to the chest of a grounded opponent.

I dont know if I would give too much credit to the slow mo cam. It might have been clearer for others ( They dont have spike in HD here), but to me it was clearly a knee to the head just from the sound it made. If you watch it in regular speed you can clearly hear a loud "CRACK" when that second knee gets thrown. So unless they added the sound effects ( wouldn't totally surprise me) I think it was a good call. Plus the ref was standing right there watching.

Kyacey also said later on "Inside The Ultimate Fighter" (a podcast that recaps each episode and talks with the fighters) that he didn't get to see the replay he asked to see afterwards. He thinks it's because his fight wasn't a pro or sanctioned fight (it was an exhibition fight).

I think it deserved a replay. In slow mo it appears Uscola hit the hand rather than the head. Was the ref standing to Uscola's left side? If so, I could see why he thought it was directly to the head.

it was to the collar bone thats the crack you heard it was the knee destroying the collar bone lol.

in fast speed i thought it was to the head, but then i slow mo tivo and watched slow mo replay and it was definatly not to the head....

i expect Uscola to get wildcard.

I think Rosenthal (the ref) was on the left side when it happened.
Kyacey has a good chance to come back anyway just because Rich is probably out due to his broken hand.

I didn't think the 2nd knee hit him at all but, from Rosenthal's perspective, I'm sure it did look like it hit him.

First knee totally hit him, but it was in the chest, the second knee also hit him.....in the right hand, , in a Legit match, this would have been a perfect instance for the new replay rule to determine a DQ or not.
He was shook up from the wild right hand after the knees and should have continued IMO, but hey, with so much on the line, might aswell take the easy win and look like an idiot AFTER everyone sees the video replay.

Replay should have been used, but in an exhibition match, it wasnt even set up, you cant just grab the camera guys equipment and review the video, so I understand why it wasnt utilized

Looked like it missed the head to me. Uscola deserves a wildcard opportunity.

I think the 1st one hit him pretty bad. I'm sure his head was ringing pretty bad. The 2nd one I didn't look like it hit him but it only takes one. That was a pretty badass fight. Sucked it ended that way. Really like Rich though. Have high hopes for him, looked like a beast at the beginning of the fight.

Other guy definitely deserves the wildcard though. or at least have a wild card fight with him in it. Hope that happens.

Pretty sure Varner suffered a partially detached retina. I guess he's pretty good at faking. Detaching your retina is a handy skill to have.

Grazing knees can easily cause a lot of damage, potentially more than a straight-on knee because the force is coming in at an angle and it's more likely to rattle your brain as a result.

I don't think anyone can really say they know he was faking. Speculating about how much it hurt if it did land is just plain ridiculous.

WAR WILDCARD for Uscola!! I dont have an opinion about the illegal/legal knee. Uscola was throwing the knee there and put himself at the mercy of the ref at that point. Unless the fighter is standing.....DON"T throw that knee! Period.
