Those two fighters should have been paid more or at least get a bonus after their fight it was amazing. I think they should definately demand more next time around. I suppose the UFC LW division hasn't been around long so you could say they haven't worked out who the top guys are but I'm still disapointed in that.

It doesnt seem like there are many high paid LW's in the UFC. Sherk and Fisher probably make the most. But i believe most others are new so they are getting contracts under 10k. Including the fight bouns. I believe the minimum paid to most UFC fighters is 3k to show+ 3k to win. (up from 2k +2k)

Good post. I was curious to see what the range of payments were for fighters. Cro Cop obviously has had to work hard to become an elite fighter to command that chunk of change.

Not to get off topic, but does anyone know how much money the UFC blew on bringing Crazyhorse (Just stand in front of me so I can punch you) to fight during the Spike TV Fight Night? I know that styles make fights, but come on. Herring's performance was atypical for him. I'm sure Dana White had some chioce words for him.

I think that when you have a lot of young fighters, you can't start throwing money around to lavishly because you will end up paying a lot of money for minimal talent.

Everyone will end up with Brandon-Vera disease, and imagine themselves being worth a lot more than they are... Taking nothing away from Brandon but I heard he was asking for 1.5 mil to sign and 7 figures per fight after that??!!??

I also believe that the UFC raises payscale with # of octagon appearences or something like that...

They Deserve the money, Its probably the most demanding sport you can do especially at this level.
I hope the salaries keep going up, and the talent will follow.

The money for the most part looks pretty good; Cro Cop getting a flat fee isn't surprising. Hopefully the sport keeps growing and the guys who put their bodies on the line keep making some good coin.

Very interesting post. I have never seen what these guys were getting paid. I have to say, for what these guys do and go through they are getting shafted compared to football, basketball, and baseball players. You got guys riding the bench making more than MMA guys, and then they want to whine about it.

Wow! Glad to see Crocop and Rampage getting paid well.

Yeah, I think that makes Cro Cop the highest payed UFC fighter. that is if you dont count Royce Gracies $800 000 fight vs Hughes.

i have gotten more than some of these fighters playing poker ...the safest sport in the world!

Tyson and Edgar need a raise big time....or Dana should award the winner with a Hummer or something

30K for stepping in with CroCop isnt that bad for someone like Sanchez...im sure he's happy with that

6,000 for Herring

18,000 For Obrien

I think Mirko is the second highest paid ufc fighter ever at 350,000 . the only one higher I can think of is Royce Gracie at 400,000

He did Get 30k which was a lot considering he had only 1 fight previous in the UFC and is really a unknown fighter.

$30,000 is alot for a 2nd UFC fight, prolly cause they needed an undefeated fighter to show the casual fan that Crocop is legit.

I'd take 30 grand to run around the ring for 5 minutes or shorter depending on when cro cop decides to finish me.

wow those figures suprised me because i heard that the main event shared a portion of the ppv income. im sure that i saw a show that said chuck made 3 million in his fight with tito

Quite the spread in paychecks. $350k to $3k. I wonder if Rampages check was a carry over salary from WFA or if it was set by the UFC. Crocops check is alot but from the "flat fee" it sounds like he might be missing out on the PPV share. Will that be the same when he is champ? Eitherway $350k is a good slice for 15min work.

Looks like the UFC is breaking out the paychecks. The next couple years will be interesting if they keep the salaries heading in this direction.

It is quite the amount of money. I think they offered him so much cuz they knew he wouldnt win. Eddie continually talked about how it was a win win situation for him. I dont see how getting into the cage and either getting KO'd by CC in round 1 or gettin KO'd by CC in round 2 is a win win.

Fight bonuses, sponsor money, and PPV revenue don't have to be reported to the state..

I think sanchez got way too much for that fight. 30G for running away for 4.5 minutes seems like way too much.

That wasnt a flat fee either. He woulda got a win bonus if he had Beat Cro Cop. Since Dana knew that was unlikely he probably offered him the 30k.

Remember...the figures you get from mmaweekly.com or elsewhere are just what UFC is obligated to report. Believe that, for example, Liddell gets more than the paltry $250K reported on the net. Headliners get a piece of the gate. MSNBC in their coverage of MMA called "Warrior Nation" reported that Liddell and Ortiz got over $1 million each for the 12/30 fight. I believe it. Still a fraction of those big-time boxer paydays, but we are certainly getting there.
