Apparently Al Turk suffered a Broken eye socket, broken jaw and 2 broken cheekbones after Kongo's brutal GnP. I cant find anything to backup these claims yet. There's a thread about it on sherdog but we all know they arent the most reliable source.

I'm with Kpro on this one, we need a "reliable" source.

I agree I felt it went about 5 seconds too long but 5 seconds the other way and people would've been bitchin about an early stoppage so it's hard to win in that situation.

Gotta err on the side of fighter safety. Mazz has a history of questionable officiating, they don't call him 'Bloodbath' for nothing. However, when it's Mario giving Randy as long as possible to recover, even though he was taking bad punishment, everyone, including Dana, heralds him as a hero.

Hopefully Al Turk can make a good recovery from these injuries and he cant get back on it. That being said, while I feel that the onus is on the official to stop the fight, it should also be on the fighter to tap if they feel the punishment they are receiving is too severe. I know that's not always possible but you rarely see guys do it, especially at the UFC level.

Wow, I thought that Al Turk was a tough guy. Not really a Lee Murray, is he?

Why is this in the news section w/o a source?

I don't think his injuries are as severe as that, although he did get blasted. The cut looked pretty bad but not sure about every facial bone destroyed! IMO the fight should have stopped when Al Turk got cut.

A fellow on the WW that has connections to London shoot said Mus is fine, a few stitches and a bit down but nothing like what is being reported here.

I understand a guy on the internet said another guy on the internet isn't a source either but I'd thought I'd share what I heard. It seems he's just fine.

According to the official medical suspensions, Turk only suffered a broken nose. doesn't seem to be too major as he just has to get it cleared by a doctor, Blackburn is in the same boat.

UFC 92 medical suspensions
