herb dean, you are a joke.....that is the straw that broke the camels back. repeated dumb decisions every event is ridiculous

I agree. I don't get all the Herb Dean love. I've always thought he was a decent ref at best.

Unbelievable. Deducting a point for that? Since when does he "have to" do that?

honestly i can understand if he warned him once or twice, but you dont deduct a point for an accident the first time it happens
Jackelope
6/19/10 11:16:39PM
He said it was a "damaging foul" or something like that so he had to deduct a point. I've never heard that term before and I've seen way worse eye pokes than that

Bye bye Keith i actually don't want him to go but he is surely gone now

Guess the point didnt matter too much as Hamill would have won anyhow

Wow, I am speechless....That was ridiculous

That's what I was thinking. Hammil has the luck of the gods when it comes to ref's.

how did hamill win??!?! apparently sprawling from 438590 takedowns doesnt mean anything when the judges have obviously picked their favorite to win
Jackelope
6/19/10 11:22:05PM
I gotta say... I picked Hamill by UD thinking he'd be able to impose his wrestling, but IMO Jardine got jobbed a little bit.

I had it 2 rounds to 1 for Hamill but the 3rd was close

Ahh, ok... haha sorry just the way it was written chronologically threw me off. I was wondering how the hell anybody could have seen that 1st round for Hamill but i gotcha

You guys are acting like Herb Dean committed a crime against humanity by deducting a point against Jardine. Jardine was rocked pretty badly and eating some heavy shots (IMO looked like he could be on the way to being finished) when he fouled Hammil. Accidental or not, his foul completely changed what was happening and forced a stoppage allowing Jardine to recover from getting punched in the face, what was so wrong with taking a point away from a fighter whose foul stopped him from, potentially, being finished?

Spoke too fast because in fact Cecil Peoples did score the 1st round for Hamill. Elsewhere, funny enough Frank Mir scored it all for Miguel Torres

Dude it was a total accident on Jardine's part. Kind of unfair IMO. Especially since he'd never been warned for it previously in the fight.

When was the last time you saw someone get a point deducted for an eye poke when they weren't previously warned?

the problem was he wouldnt have done that to anderson silva, michael bisping, brock lesnar, etc. the ref's have OBVIOUSLY shown favoritism/biasedness in fights. when the foul happened is irrellevant. it was an accident and should no way have affected jardines match

6-3 with like 47 points. Really disapointed with A-Train's performance, he blew my wagers for sure. Bad gameplanning there, why stand with Leben?

Glad Hamill was able to pull out the win even though I had him by KO. At the same time, also feel bad for Keith, he cant seem to catch a break. That point definately didnt need to be deducted, but I had Hamill up two rounds to one.

You're glossing over my point, though. Jardine was visibly hurt and reeling. Borderlining being finished by Hammil. That's why I don't think it was that bad of a call.

Can he get it from this position Kenny?

but my point is what correlation do being hurt and an ACCIDENTAL foul have? they are irrelevant.

I wouldn't gloss over it if it was done purposely. It wasn't, though. That was very apparent.

I can almost guarantee that the commission will address the point deduction in the next couple of days. When there is a unique situation that causes some buzz, they usually give a statement via the media. I guess we'll find out then.
