With the downtime the UFC has presented us with I figured I would devise a hypothetical 32 man heavyweight tourney. To begin with I will post the 32 man roster which everyone can rank 1 - 32 in order to create the seeding for the tourney. To even it out a bit, it wont be a typical seeding since #1 vs #32 is far less interesting than #1 vs #17, 2 v 18, 3 v 19, down to 16 v 32.

Anyone can join and PM me their list of 32 which I will tabulate and post the result on Tuesday evening. After the matchups are posted Tuesday night, everyone will have until Thursday evening to PM me what they believe the results of each match up would be. I will then average the results in order to determine the "true" result and this will continue down to the final two.

* All fights are 3 rounds
* PM'ing will create a more varied result as people cannot be swayed by others opinions...

Scoring/Results:

-Winner is determined by the fighter receiving the most votes in each matchup.
-For curiousity's sake we will also state the Round and Finish Type for each match up which I will then take the most common answer of each to determine the outcome.

Example: Fighter A v Fighter B
-Fighter A recieves 7 votes while Fighter B only gets 3
-Of the 7 votes for Fighter A, 4 votes were KO, 3 were SUB
-Of the 7 votes for Fighter A, 3 votes said Round 1, 2 votes for Round 2, 2 votes for Round 3

The result: Fighter A wins by KO in the 1st Round

Does JDS get 5 round fights? or just 3 like everyone else lol.Not that he'd need it against Gonzaga just slightly curious even though I feel its 3 rounds like everyone else.Assuming everyone is under 3 rounds.

I suppose I shouldn't be that surprised but I'm a little surprised by going with almost all finishes. It is Heavyweights afterall but normally it seems like I go with slightly more decisions then TKO/KO's and Subs.I suppose the way the bracket is worked out too has to do with it as all, and being Heavyweights again lol.
Pookie
4/1/12 10:48:55PM
Heavyweight fights statistically end up in stoppages more than any weight class, and end in the first round more than all the other results combined.
LateCold
4/2/12 8:40:54AM
Aye, all that power and Heavyweights tend to be less skilled then the lower weight classes so more finishes.
