WELTERWEIGHT TOURNAMENT:

Everyone gets two spots automatically and their placement in the bracket is based on the order you PM me, like so:
1st PM: Slots 1 and 8
2nd PM: Slots 2 and 5
3rd PM: Slots 3 and 7
4th PM: Slot 4 and 6

This will make it so that your two fighters could only possibly meet in the finals. To prevent that we will also have an "Alternate Match". Slots 1-4 will be classified as "Bracket A" while slots 5-8 will be "Bracket B" so when you PM me the fighters you wish to enter you must also decide which bracket you want them in.

Ex: "Bracket A - GSP, Bracket B - Johnny Hendricks"

For the "Alternate Match" you may enter any remaining WW on your roster. The Alternate Match slots will be bid on and the fight pays $45k to the winner, $0 to the loser.

So your PM should have the following info:

EX: "Bracket A - GSP
Bracket B - Hendricks
Alternate - Rory McD - $5k"

If one player was to win both brackets and have his fighters both in the finale he would then chose who to drop out "due to injury". The winner of the Alternate Match would then fight the remaining fighter in the finals. If you win both brackets and the alternate match then you can chose what the finale would look like.

Same as before, your fighters are rested for one card for every fight they take part in.

*Opening round win pays $75k, Semi-Final win pays $150, Final win pays $225

I appreciate what your trying to do trevail and the game really has been so good it's what the 90's kids would call wicked. But does anybody else just see the lists of these guys and just go, ugh. It's like compared to everybody in the lower rounds these guys are so OP'd. All of the guys who were 3-0 or whatever are now gonna go 3-4.

I love how trevails not put them in the tournaments but still that just means the JDS, Belforts, Melendez's will be taking it.

Maybe I'm 1 in 1000 though cause I hate predictability in things like this, it's the reason I don't go to the cinema as films wind me up how they just change characters names but its the same plot.

No bashing your game though trevail, I've just gone all Shawn here and given faults instead of compliments. I was just commenting on how all these sorts of games wind down to The last round of fighters beating down all the guys we spent time building up and making our fight camps so good.

I totally understand where you are coming from. Nobody has bid yet so we could change it to no fighters in the TOP 5 of their class can do tournaments.

What does everyone think?

I think I have remedied this situation for the next time we play....

Not at all. My view was to tweak and learn as much from this round in order to make a way better game next time around.

Next round, all tournaments will be spread over the first few cards to determine champions. From then on money made (less initial bid) will determine rankings and titleshots. Therefore early fighters from the beginning of the draft build up their earnings while the top fighters introduced later on are forced to work their way up overcoming the larger initial investments before reaching the top. This should make for the belts changing hands a few times.

The way I see it we have 4 options: (all of which work for me)

1. No changes, keep playing.

2. Top 3-5 as listed right now cannot compete in tournaments.

3. Don't even draft the top 3-5 fighters per class.

4. Call this a learning experience and start the new and improved game.

What does everyone think?

Option 5.

Don't draft current champions and top 2-3 can't compete in tournaments?

C'Mon PF you must have an opinion as to what would make it the most interesting....
jakewalters
6/19/13 2:31:40PM
I like option 2. Top 3 shouldn't be allowed in tournaments.

And if we choose to not draft champions, I don't mind. That kind of makes sense as I don't envision a champion ever losing in this game unless it was a Silva/Jones superfight or something
jjeans
6/19/13 3:16:46PM
So right now we have

Me: Completely against champions being in the game - and doesn't want top 3 being in Tournaments

PF: No opinion

Jake: No definitive opinion on champions being in the game - doesn't want top 3 being in tournaments

Dan only has 1 vote so it's up to him to decide on champions being in the game but either way top 3 won't be in tournaments. So no

Cain, JDS, Big Foot
Silva, Belfort, Weidman
etc

I think that's quite nice except Fabers 5th and not 3rd!!!

Thanks for being open about change though trevail

Dan the power is in your hands... Do you want champions, or do you not want champions?
