This may be the best MMA Lounge topic I have thought of and hopefully this thread will stay alive for awhile cause it seems like a great discussion.

Ok, imagine MMA never began and both UFC and Pride weren;t around.
Next, imagine UFC emerges with a tournament in 2008 (just like when it really did) calling out the best of each style to fight. Think of some of the best athletes from individual styles now competeing in the tournament such as: Sambo, Karate, BBJ, Boxing, Kickboxing, Wrestling, ect.

Ok, anyone like this idea yet. Feel free to make a tournament bracket as I really don;t know the top guys in half these styles. I heard Chuck Norris is undefeated in Karate so that would be great to throw him in. Also feel free to use Kimbo as the Tank Abbot type fighter.

So right now I have this
Wrestling- Brock Lesnar
Karate- Chuck Norris
Pit Fighter- Kimbo Slice
Boxing- Floyd Mayweather? (idk tell me a better guy if you know)
BBJ- Renzo Gracie? (lol once again, Idk which gracie so you chose)
Kickboxing- ________
Sambo- Fedor
GrecoRoman Wrestling- Randy Couture

Feel free to add any other styles and fighters and we will end up with a tournament bracket soon.

Yea, forgot to say that. Try to choose guys outside of MMA. Though I picked Fedor and Couture, they both have been very successful in that style alone before doing MMA. Idk want to see like Chuck Liddel for Boxing cause hes a good striker or even Anderson Silva for Muay Thai cause they all are using it in MMA rather than making a career off of it in that alone.

If a world Karate CHampion cant take a street brawler (pre-mma kimbo), then it just shows karate as ineffective, when the point of karate is to defend yourself adequately against street fighters. But you also must have karate... this is ufc 1, we know no better yet.

Jeet Kune Do lol, but it had a very heavy base in Wing chun.
ALthough i do see your point, if bruce lee was in there he should be filed under Jeet Kune Do, or just no style.

no, ctach wrestling is one mof the more common forms, where you can win by pin or submission with holds below the waist aloud, greco on the other hand doesnt allow any moves udner the waist and doesnt incorporate submissions(i dont think).
