Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz (15-5-1) will face Dan Henderson (22-6) — not Rashad Evans — at UFC 78 on November 17 in Newark, N.J., according to a TAGG Radio report today.

Of all the people in all the world who could have posted this news, the fact that you did brings great joy to my heart.

If it's true Tito is going to get absolutely mauled. There's no way he'll be able to handle Henderson's intensity.

Good news (well, for Steve).

Not happening.

I had picked Rashad and was looking forward to it but as long as Tito gets smashed I don't care who he fights. I am glad Hendo is back so soon.

They should have Evans vs Jardine 2 as well. IMO

This does make me happy. Not because this fight isn't happening, but because Frank Trigg got tooled again. NME is a more credible source then Trigg and if he says its not happening then it isn't. You can take it to the bank.

I look forward to this fight even though Hendo's wrestling is going to be a real problem for Tito. However I will say this... if Jackson can out-roll Hendo, so can Tito.

In fairness to Frank, Georgeous George did say this was only a rumor. So...it's not like he said Dan Henderson signed for $2 million per fight or anything.

i saw the first tito rashad fight different. i thought tito won 1st 2 rounds but grabbed the cage and rashad won 3rd. so i think rashad was happy to not get a loss on his record and should understand he is fortunate that tito grabbed the cage. now after seeing the cro cop fight i think they took a point away too soon from tito. cro cop got bagged 4 times and that was only a warning. oh well i expect to see tito rashad not tito hendo

I think the point might have been taken a little early in the Tito Rashad fight, but Crocop took in in the bag only twice and Big John only saw the second one. John knew it happened the first time, but he can't warn Kongo for something he didn't see. In an interview Crocop gave after the fight he said it was twice, so unless he forgot that he got kneed in the groin more then twice I think it is safe to say it was twice. Thats not something you miscount.

Tito got warned a few times too. He was grabbing the fence and Rashads Shorts a few times. It was a good call by the ref, and the draw was the correct decision, even though it didn't settle anything, and is a very unsatisfying finish to a hyped up fight.
As for Tito Vs Hendo.... really bad fight for Ortiz. It will get mad Hype as does any Tito Ortiz fight, but he would get destroyed. Henderson is a true warrior. Tito wouldn't be able to handle the constant onslought that Henderson would bring. Ortiz relys on his opponents wilting under his ground and pound, but Henderson would never stop. There is a reason he hasn't been KOd. Henderson would dominate the fight from start to finish, and I would call it to be a clear cut decision.

Will never happen. They are training partners.

That's so much more of an interesting fight than Ortiz vs Evans 2. I really hope it happens. Hendo by attempted murder.

Anyone who thinks Ortiz stands a Chance against Hendo is poorly mistaken, but he should be able to handle a fighter like Evans which he prooved in their first match.

dan henderson would absolutly destroy tito ortiz, tito smokes too much pot, thats his problem in my opinion and i don't think a porn star for a girl friends does wonders for your focus and training

Hendo needs to drop to 185. He is a beast at 185.

A) Hendo is a small 205 B) Tito is the biggest 205, even bigger than Forrest

Tito may lose, I have no delusions that this wouldn't be an easy win for either fighter but c'mon do you really believe that it's gonna be easy for Hendo so much so that the thought of Tito winning is some kind of abstract long shot?

I agree this wouldn't be a easy win for either fighter(if it happens) and size would play a part as nubby pointed out. Their both really talented and would be a great fight and tito is not washed up and will probley beat rashadd when they rematch

I would like to see middle weight unification before we see this fight personally.

Yeah, he's a beast at 205 as well. I don't think it's a easy weight cut for him. The pride middleweight division was heavier then the UFC.

I dunno man Hendo KO'd wand(no easy task) and did very well against rampage(again no easy task). Plus Tito's not going to out wrestle Hendo, and Hendo's the better striker. And Prides middle weight div is considered LHW(205), Pride WW(MW in the UFC) div weight is 183.
