After alost ten years away from the sport, it's understandable that fans where sceptic of the Russian Bear's return to MMA, but he did not dissapoint. Oleg wins in his return bout with yet another kneebar. This former UFC champion is hailed by most as one of the greatest and toughest fighters from the first generation of fighters, and although a Couture-like career is unlikely, the return of Oleg Taktarov is welcomed by all.

ps. Oleg recently had a boxing match with none other that Dolph Lungrend.

Good for the Russian bear.
The last thing that I like seeing is great fighters of yesteryears past come back and fall to father time ala Shamrock. I even hate seeing old champions get tossed aside like a sack of potatoes like it seemed everyone was trying to do to Big Tim,(which is why I was rooting for Timmeh against Vera).

Not bad at all. If Royce Gracie and Dan Severn can keep going strong after all these years, then why not Oleg?

(PS-it's Lundgren)

I wouldn't bring out the dancing banana too early. After his brutal KO, by Gary Goodridge, the three wins he has are against guys with the following records:

0-1
0-6
7-7

Like all elite guys from the early years of the UFC, they can still roll with new or "low end" guys, but I speculate on whether or not they can stand with anyone decent now.

Oh yeah, and that boxing match with Dolph was painful to watch.

Everytime I see a kneebar on a result sheet I drool. No one does them anymore in big fights, go Taktarov!

griffin attempted one against frankie edgar, it was tight too, i was actually surprised that edgar didn't tap because if the round didn't end i believe his leg would have been broken.
