I have a suggestion/question for the forum.
When a thread need to stop being active, because a mod decided to, why can`t it just be locked instead of being deleted....

Sometimes they will get locked, other times deleted. In each case there is a reason. The reason is determined by the mod / who chooses to take the action

I understand, haven`t seen anything getting locked lately, maybe some mods/ don`t know how to lock a thread...

Generally if there's questionable content that is likely to cause a flame war or a reviving of the topic under a different title it will get deleted. This is to keep the peace

A lot of times dudes are funny/nice guys. Unfortunately, a lot of times those funny/nice guys are cheating and running multiple accounts

As far as I know they were civil.

However, it was getting annoying that 3 or 4 threads (maybe more) were created for the same topic in the same forum. Honestly, I didn't see much more to talk about than was was said in those threads.

Do I think threads should be deleted? Yes, some times they should. Should all those threads about the election stay deleted? I would have liked one to stick around, but the others were not necessary. Then again, as mods we trust each other that there each mod has their own justifiable reason to lock or delete a thread or post.

Everyone keep in mind that threads get locked or deleted to prevent people from getting banned. As annoying as it may be, a lot of good posters have gotten warnings/bans because they got carried away in a stupid debate. If we just let it go, it encourages more of that behavior and eventually spirals out of hand.

I understand that sometimes thread needs to be deleted, I even did things in the past, that justified mods to close a thread down, I admit.. I just think that one or two of the politics thread were interesting and should have stayed on.

Even tho, we are a MMA board, I think we are also a community and discussing everyday life topics are equally important to these board as much as knowing if Paulo Filho is overrated. I mean you and me rarely agree but I think we are able to good and intelligent discussion.

My point point is closing down some G-Rated porn or hot pics thread is one thing, forbidding us to talk about real life issues and events that affect all our life is another thing.

I agree, and I prefer talking about philosophy, life, etc over fantasy MMA matchups and such. I enjoy MMA, but can only talk about it so much, hence why I avoid posting in so many threads.

Since, it looks like I'm not the only one with this opinion, shouldn't the thread be reestablish and the prohibition lifted or the whole forum/board direction are dictated by the opinion of one person?

Well, I don't reinstate deleted threads unless I deleted them. That would be undermining the judgement of the other mods.

I was not asking you to reinstate it, I was just stating the fact that, some decision lately goes against the majority and maybe it's a matter that should be looked into before it get worse.
