Strikeforce grand-prix finalist Daniel Cormier, in fact, did break his right hand.

At this past weekend's "Strikeforce: Barnett vs. Kharitonov" event, Cormier and Strikeforce officials determined he likely broke his hand in a Sept. 10 semifinal victory over Antonio "Giant" Silva.

Cormier confirmed the break on Twitter

"@dc_mmaDaniel Cormier
Just got done seeing Dr. Hand is broken will be on the shelf 4 a while. Still looking forward to finishing tourney. Thx 4 support. DC"

Glad he's only projected to be out 6-8 weeks, its probably gonna be that long before we see what the card looks like anyway

How a dude can continue to fight with a broken hand is amazing to me. My hat is off to Cormier, and anyone like him who keeps bringing it with a mid-fight injury.

After Frank Mir broke Tim Sylvia's ARM, Sylvia picked Mir up and slammed him down and still wanted to fight. One crazy dude right there
