The reason I find it boring is because Shields poses basically no threat as far as finishing the fight.

Exactly. This is why if he cannot take the fight to the ground he will get pwned. If a good striker lands a good combo, he will go to sleep

I guess I just don't understand the Shields hate.

For a half dozen years message board posters have been saying "if a striker just lands then its over for Shields", yet it hasn't happened.

He's good at what he does, most don't like it but just admit it, and move on.

That fight had great grappling transitions, takedowns and counters. I don't need a haymaker to make a good fight.

I don't think anyone is arguing that he's a bad fighter. Like I said before it started I figured he would win. Most people just don't enjoy watching a 25 minute wrestling match where the winner is not making any attempt to finish his opponent.

Whatever though, it's over. Fedor vs Rogers can't possibly be anything but exciting.

Taking bets on how many seconds this lasts. I say less than 75.

In his last 10 fights, who has he fought that was a real striker? Daley? That's the only one I know of. We all know Daley does not have good takedown defense. Most of his other wins were against mediocre guys or submission guys with poor wrestling.

I want to see Jake in the UFC to really test his game overall. Why hasn't he fought at least once in the UFC? If he is considered top 10, then I can't see the UFC snubbing him.

I see him as a fighter like Sonnen, but with better BJJ. Nevertheless, I don't see him as a complete fighter. That would be fine if he had finishing ability with strikes, but he doesn't.

Rogers is legit. Tonight he lost but he is not a loser by any means. Between surviving one round and putting up a better fight than most expected, he won. We haven't heard the last of him.

If you don't understand my point then it's pointless to explain it further, but alas:

The difference is obvious. Purists and casual fans alike simply dislike Shields. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it, do what you want to do. But there is a very obvious keyboard warrior bias against Shields.

Did people consider Rogers a can? Just not sure where Rogers stands in the HW rankings IMO.

On the Shields hate comment. I dont hate him, He is just very one dimensional and the game has evolved so much, Even with his stellar BJJ, He isnt very exciting to watch! I Was rooting for Mayhem!

Rogers did great, But Fedor is great! Its a shame that Overeem wasnt there (Well they never showed him from what I seen) Cung Le was there to watch his old belt get fought for, But NO Overeem to watch HIS possible next contender for HIS belt!!

Not a bad show though, Strikeforce are getting there slowly! One thing is they should NEVER EVER mention the UFC, You dont hear Rogan mention Strikeforce do ya, Well maybe once I think. Think he said Nick Diaz foghts for Strikeforce! But They (Strikeforce) Keeo mentioning UFC plugs, 'Shonie Carter backfist' Hearing that made me want to watch some UFC, Oh well.

I thought Rogers was a top ten guy capable of beating anybody on the right night, If he did that to Rogers I think he still has what it takes to beat Brock Lesner. I don't think Lesners hands are heavy enough. I've always thought that Fedor has the fastest hands around. I think Fedor stays number 1 until he loses.

It was funny to watch the punch that knocked Rogers out, Fedor lowered his head and threw the overhead right! Its not really technical is it? But it works for him!!!

Who will Fedor get next?

Would Rogers go to the UFC? I wonder what his contract is like at the moment?

For the amount they're paying him they might as well give Werdum the shot next, as far as Bigfoot, they'll have to give him an opponent they're not trying to build up. I'm still confused as to what type of opponent they'll want to give Del Rosario next.

I'm pretty sure Scott Coker alluded to a sort of mini-tournament to decide who fights Overeem, which would mean that Fedor is probably fighting Werdum next. Depends on how the timing works out I guess.
