Silva Post-UFC 79 Blog Posting

Wanderlei Silva posted to his official blog after his loss to Chuck Liddell at UFC 79. He congratulated his team, thanked the fans, and generally was feeling positive despite the loss.

How could you not love the guy after that? He took everything Liddell through at him, and he still stood, and he still pressed on. There are many fighters who can't say they survived a fury of punches thrown by Liddell. Liddell may not knock out everyone he hits, but I just couldn't believe Silva was still standing afterwards. He's a tough SOB, and the fact that he was so classy in defeat speaks volumes about his character.

Ya, no doubts about it. Wanderlei has always been three things: exciting, tough and classy. I would have to say, if Randy Couture is Captain America, then Wanderlei Silva is Captain Brazil.

Wandy took some serious shots that would've knocked most other fighters out. I was amazed he took that many shots and didn't fall. He's damn tough and has class. I can't wait to see who his next fight will be with.

yeah he might not of won but he did put all of his talent in it he is a beast in the clinch and i didnt see him do much of that i know chuck has a good reach advantage on him but he is still a great fighter i my eyes it just wasnt his night

Wand decided he was going to go out there and put on one hell of a show, no matter what. Thats what he did, and I love him for it. Do I think he had a ton of things that he could of used? Hell yes. He could have leg kicked more, worked the clinch, used some BJJ. He's such a classy guy and amazing to watch. I think he will do more then just throw in his next fight and he'll start to win, now he has a following of casual US fans which will serve him very well business wise, and draw wise.

Wandy is one of my heroes.

I actualy got more respect for him than I do for Liddell aftet that fight,but hey i'm going to be a little biased because Silva is my BFF.(Just don't let Rampage and Bas know).
