UFC president Dana White says Anderson Silva will defend his middleweight title next, but it won't be against Yushin Okami as planned...

Interesting, well as long as okami gets his shot. I did'nt think Cote would be ready by 88. But this works.

This is a lame fight. Cote lost to Travis Lutter in 30 seconds less than a year a go , come on he doesnt deserve a title shot

Well I know Yushin Okami is out because he is injured. He broke his hand last I had heard. Info can be found HERE. So the UFC is putting him off he is just hurt. Now I agree I don't think Cote should be fighting Silva at all but who else do you put in there. Silva has dismantled most of the MW division. Now I think this will be a short fight maybe even shorted than Silva's fight with Irvin, but someone has to get murdered might as well be Cote.

Well this is really the only option they have at this point although i do agree it will be a masacre who else can they put in there with Okami hurt?

Interesting. I don't even have Cote in my top ten. The first thing that I thought of when I read that Okami won't be in this fight is that they were putting Anderson up against Michael Bisping. I know that everyone wants to see Bisping fight Leben in the UK, but I've heard that UK fans are tired of getting the same fighters and the same fights over and over again.

We saw that the UFC can come up big when their plans are changed (GSP taking over for Serra against Hughes, Alves vs. Hughes at UFC 85, etc), so why is this fight taking place? It should be Bisping vs. Silva for the belt. Now there is a fight that I'd pay to watch.

Agreed. Would much rather see Bisping face Silva, but i do think Cote deserves it more.

Bisping would be my recomendation to Joe Silva. Cote has a huge heart is a banger and i love it about the guy but Silva would break his entire face! At least bisping can try and take him down.

Cote should team up with Okami and give it a shot. I'll still take Anderson.

i think cote is going to surprise a lot of people. obviously silva is on a roll and has destroyed all the top mw's in the ufc. but don't forget cote is on a bit of a roll himself beating 5 top 20 mw's in his last 5 fights with 3 ko/tko's. i don't think cote will be intimidated one bit going into the fight with silva. this could be a better fight then most of you think.

I'd laugh if Cote got the KO

I don't see how Cote's horrible split decision win over Alemida deserves a title shot. Yeah, I know Okami is hurt but I'd rather see Bisping vs. Silva than Cote vs. Silva. Either way I think Okami has the best chance against him.
