Semmy Schilt could be on his way back to the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The Dutch giant recently clocked up another K-1 title and has hinted he is looking to a return to MMA.

In an interview with FightHype.com, Schilt was asked what the chances were of a fight between him and Tim Sylvia. Schilt replied:

“My manager and K-1 are trying to work out a deal with the UFC to make this fight (against Sylvia) happen. I am ready to get back into the Octagon.”

Of course he wants to face Tim, especially if Tim gets past Nogueira.

His only chance of getting the match is if Nogueira wins though.

i think semmy should get kongo as a first match if he does indeed sign with UFC. that'd show casual fans the power of a k-1 champ in stand up.

Tim's only chance is to LnP or sub him, even Fedor coulden't TKO Semmy on the ground.

Any striker in MMA has basically next to no chance against Semmy, It's Semmy's element standing up and Tim is known as a stand- up fighter. And I don't think he would want to take it to the ground seeing as Semmy has a better ground game and Semmy actually has a black belt in jiu jitsu.

au contrare, sylvia showed his underrated ground game against monson, whereas smaller guys like kharitonov and fedor managed to keep schilt on the ground and pound on him. im not saying semmy is a fish out of water on the ground considering he has multiple wins via submission in MMA, but i think timmys ground game might be better.

true even though he his the 3 time defending K-1 champ, plus has gone the distance with fedor plus u could hype this as K-1 v ufc but i dont think that if tim is cahmp they want him to face a K-1 guy

I would like to see Semmy in the UFC.
I think that now the UFC is the place where every top fighters in the world want to be part of.

A couple of years ago, the top Boxers , top Kickboxers and top wrestlers were laughing and were considering MMA like a second class sport, but now they all want to be part of it and sudently the UFC champs are chalenged by almost everybody .

I think the chance to see Semmy as a UFC champ are close to zero, considering that the UFC will not give a direct title shot to a guy who is not clasify in MMA top 10 ranking.
so basically , Semmy or Floyd or JLB or whatever would have to beat alot of top fighters before having a title shot and they will simply fall before having there shot.

Tim Sylvia is a guy who look easy to beat but it is a completely different story when you are accually fighting him.

First let me say that I don't watch K-1...I know you all are quick to offend. Honestly if this is the same Semmy I think it is then he is a total can! I even double checked everything on Sherdog to make sure I remembered him from his Pride days in 01-04. His latest wins in MMA have been to Min Soo Kim, Gan McGee (decent competitor) and Yoshi (0-4) he has lost to almost every guy I think I have seen him fight! Now those guys (IF he had beaten them) I could see deserving of a shot at the HW belt....but this guy.....he must have done something in the last couple of years that I really missed!!!

Semmy is a 6'11 290 lb 3 time(in a row) k-1 WGP champ, and is the current super heavy weight champ. He hasn't lost in 11 fights, he's the 9th king of pancrase, he's no can. He hasn't fought in mma since 06(first time since 04), he's also been in there with Fedor, Barney, and Nog. He's a K-1, Pride, and UFC vet.

Yeah I figured he had done something with all the guys supporting him, but when I remember him fighting those guys in Pride he looked rather unimpressive to me, K-1 is an org that I see very often, I think he would still have to fight a couple of guys before they let him go after Tim though.

I'm somewhat inclined to agree with you.Like you,I haven't been exposed to much K-1,though I have herd a lot of talk about how great Semmy is over their though. From his MMA matches that I remember seeing, despite being praised as a great kickboxer,it seemed liked much of what he used in those fights was strickly his size.I don't think he adapted as well to MMA as guys likes Mirko and even to a certain degree Mark Hunt did. While his ground game did seem to be a bit better than those two,I think CC and Hunt were able to better adapt their striking to MMA than Shilt.

Him VS any UFC heavy weight would be worth watching though IMO.Especialy big Tim.

Kharitonov did, brutally.
