Ryo Chonan To Face Roan Carneiro At UFC 88

Ryo Chonan is set to face Brazilian Roan "Jucao" Carneiro at UFC 88. The news comes directly from Jucao's manager Alex Davis courtesy of our good friends over at Tatame.com:

"This is an important fight for the Jucão," said Davis. "It is a fight he wanted for a long time and it didn’t happen at UFC 85 because Chonan got injured. He is now training hard and will be very well prepared for this fight."

Should be a competitive match up. Don't know who I like. I assume Chonan will be a favorite. Roan is getting better and better.

I hope that Ryo Chonan win this match. It was long ago he looked "on".

i wouldn't say it's a lock, but i think chonan controls the fight wherever it goes and picks up a ud. nice to see this fight finally happening.

Well i thought Roan had very good BJJ skills but he just got subbed by Kevin Burns so .................... having said that he will likely anaconda choke Ryo in the 1st and get back on track

I really think Carneiro is getting alot better, and is gonna be really good one day, but i'll be pulling for chonnan in this one.

I hate to see Ryo lose ever. He has such heart. I'll be betting on Roan though.

Tough call....I may just go with who I like more on this one....should be an awesome display of ground techniques!!!!

this is a must win for roan, when this fight was suppose to happen the first time i was going to pick roan but now i think im going to take ryo to win.

That's exactly why I am going with Chonan. Before Burns, I would've went with Carneiro.

I'm pretty excited to see Chonan back, he looked good against Karo even in defeat, I think he takes this fight.

Problem with Chonan is he doesn't always show up to fight. I really like him as a fighter but sometimes he can look B class to me.

Hell yea, the much anticipated re-match! Hopefully Chonan can keep in on the feet and get the UD.
