Ronda Rousey to make $75K/$75K at UFC 157, Liz Carmouche $12K/12K

I see absolutely no problem with this at all, 90% of mma fans would never consider purchasing a ufc ppv featuring a female fight if it weren't for Rousey. Like it or not the success of this event falls squarly on Roundas ability to draw veiwers & not Carmouche, so she deserves to be paid like it. People shouldn't get overly worked up about it as I'm sure Liz is going to get a nice side check after the fight anyway.

I wonder what she made in Strikeforce. And a PPV cut too? Pretty sad if those figures are accurate. While 12k/12k is still better than a good number of debuting fighters salaries, if Carmouche doesn't see a PPV % then that's just fucked up. This fight doesn't happen without an opponent for Rousey.

Do Machida and Henderson see a ppv cut? Because id bet that most of the ppv buys will be because of that fight.

Only hardcore MMA fans know about her? I saw more news about Rousey in 2012 than I see about almost any fighter.

Offended by her mouth and attitude? You mean like Chael Sonnen? Yeah, that definitely hurt the PPV revenues.

I have absolutely no problem wit this at all. Ronda deserves every cent they offer her. She goes out of her way to market herself and does a good job at doing so. Champions will always make more per fight thats just the way she goes. On a side note I think they should be paying Liz more then they are thats the only problem I see with this situation. Ronda doesnt deserve less Liz just deserves more.

You sign your own deal. I hate it so mauch when I hear ppl complian about their contract. If you don't like it don't sign it.

conparing rousey with sonnen on the mic is like comparing aluminum to gold

Reported fighters salaries are the bottom of the barrel of what they actually make. Both of these ladies will make substantially more in sponsorship just due to the fact that they are the first women ever headlining a UFC card. Rousey definitely deserves a way bigger cut and Carmouche has probably never even seen a 12/12 payday plus the endorsements/sponsorship money will be over the top. I have no problem with it at all. As far as women fighting and headlining a UFC card, casual fans who don't like it will come around. Chances are they were the same people who were concerned initially the entire sport was "too violent."

Just wondering, when was the last time someone in a title fight got 12 K to show? That seems insane to me, and I rarely bitch about fighter salaries. I guess getting your arm torn off is worth 12 K.

Hell yeah she is, most people entering the UFC, that are not well known, usually start at 6K-8K.

It's not like she, has been a force and is getting low balled, she is on a 2 fight winning streak, against okay comp. She is already making double what most other people make in their UFC debuts, and is given a title shot, I think that is worth more to her than a bigger payday. Don't forget there are backstage bonuses, handed out as well.

How funny would it be if she KOed Rousey for less than a sixth of the money....I know it f-up the UFC's plan for WMMA, but I love an epic fail!
