Ricardo Almeida has had a successful career competing as a middleweight, amassing a 10-3 professional record, but his UFC 101 bout against Kendall Grove will be the Renzo Gracie black belt's last in the 185-pound division. Following the Aug. 8 event at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Almeida will make the drop down to the welterweight class.

I have always liked Almeida. With his BJJ he will be a good addition to the WW division. He should be pretty big for 170 also.

He should have a fairly big size advantage at WW, if he can cut down good.

Grove will have a reach advantage, but I gotta go with the BIG DOG for this fight.

As a guy who was submitted by a 155 5'6 non-elite BJJ practitioner in Savant Young, Groves chances in this fight are slim.

As a guy who was submitted by a 155 5'6 non-elite BJJ practitioner in Savant Young, Groves chances in this fight are slim.

Savant has fought as low as 143 in Shooto and he fought Hominick on an Affliction card at 145.
