Report: Fedor Reveals Retirement Plans

After much speculation, Fedor Emelianenko is calling it a career.
Following his June 21 bout against Pedro Rizzo in St. Petersburg, Russia, Fedor will hang up his gloves for the final time.
“June 21 will be the last fight of my career,” Fedor said, according to iSport.ua.
Fedor ruled the Japanese mixed martial arts scene, dominating many of the best heavyweights in the world during his tenure under the Pride banner.

ive always found mmaweekly to be reliable, but any article referring to Fedor's big wins including "Mauricio “Cro Cop” Filipovic" deserves questioning

I thought he was already retired......I honestly can't remember the last time he actually showed up to fight?

Always sucks when the old school legends retire, I'm still not convinced that he's never gonna fight again

Wow internet being down for 3 days sure has made me miss a lot. kinda surprised at this. Dude had a legendary career and i'm gonna miss him :(

Really pathetic way to end an otherwise exemplary career. His management has really steered him wrong since PRIDE folded.

Sad day for MMA. Big fan of Fedor, just wish he wasn't leaving on a sour note. I just don't believe he ever gave it his all, or sought out the best competition--I think he just got by on raw talent most of the time. I kind of look at his career like I do BJ Penn--one of the best of all time, but never reached his true potential.

Sums it up pretty well
Overated? Maybe. But a hell of alot of people wanted to see him in the octagon, myself included.
