Ive always been a fan of rashad, both the fighter and the person.

When he retires, rashad is going to one of the best ambassadors for this sport.

I agree with the above poster, Rashad will be a great ambassador for the sport.

I hope more fighters join Rashad with this campaign. Even if you aren't pro gay marriage you can't deny that it would go a long way towards making mma fighters look like more then savage fighting creatures.

Even before the military aloud openly gay service members we had them a plenty of both genders. Never had a problem with them and have plenty of friends who are homosexual...basically all I have ever seen in standing against it is people who are inexplicably afraid. Makes no sense to me...if it makes you happy and your not hurting anyone then I say go for it. We all deserve to be happy.

I'm going to quote Joe Rogan here.

"The only people that don't want gay marriage are stupid or secretly worried dicks are delicious"

Good for Rashad. Very few athletes will touch this subject, and to have one that is a top athlete in what many consider the most mindless sport created makes the statement a bit more meaningful. Regarding things like this people just need to mind their own damned business. It really is mind boggling that this is even an issue.

MMA is the child porn of sports.
Gay marriage: [homosexuals are] brute beasts...part of a vile and satanic system [that] will be utterly annihilated, and there will be a celebration in heaven." - The Bible Tells Me So (book)

Rashad Evans is the worst person on planet Earth

Another great quote that has been attributed to Morgan Freeman, but apparently was originally the work of comedian Keith Lowell Jensen...

"I hate the word homophobia, you aren't scared - you're an asshole!"

Agree with all who say Rashad will make a great ambassador. here's the full transcript of his view, he puts them plainly and without being negative ..

" "I've never been a homophobe, never understood what that is all about. I knew some people who were gay and never cared about their sexuality. But at the same time, I didn't fully understand the issues around gay people until my friend BA started telling me about his full public support for gay marriage. We talked about the issue and I decided its not enough to not be against a minority, if you want things to go better for them you have to speak up with them. "I'm a UFC fighter, a macho-type sport. I am a heterosexual guy in a tough macho sport, which is exactly the reason I feel a duty to say I support gay marriage and gay rights. "I have nothing to gain personally from supporting this issue, and that's the point. Society as a whole is better when there is equality, and I want to live in a country where everyone has the same rights because we all benefit from that. "What people overlook is that is isn't a sex issue, its a love issue. There's no justifiable reason for trying to get in the way of two people who love each other. "I have kids. I don't want them growing up in a society where they, or their friends, could be second class citizens based on which person they fall in love with or who they want to be happy with." "

I'm in the Patton Oswalt camp with homophobia, in that I don't believe homophobia usually or strictly stems from religious beliefs. Homophobia simply stems from those who believe homosexual sex is yucky. But in the specter of homophobia, God > Yucky.

My dad always called those "forgetful biscuits." Once while he was in Mexico, he asked for a quaalude equivalent because they had stopped manufacturing quaaludes. The hispanic gentleman gave him some pills, later determined to be Rohypnol. While blacked out he provoked some bouncers into beating the shit out of him. This is the man who taught me how to read.
