And of course he commits potential career suicide in the process because said bad words were directed towards UFC. He was voicing his opinion of the events of UFC 104, in particular the main event and the judges. He also says he won't return until UFC hires new, more competent judges. Which means never because UFC doesn't choose judges-the state athletic commissions or organizations overseeing MMA do.

The way he worded it is very, very wrong especially considering he wants to return in the future but he has a point.
Hardcore and casual fans alike both thought Shogun won, all the fighters thought Shogun won an even the owner of the company thought Shogun won yet Machida got the nod.
After this decision and many ones like it in the past the UFC should be pushing for a set of rules clearly aimed at MMA. Taking small sections from other sports and mixing them together is never going to work and the UFC is a global brand now.
They finally have the pull to draught up a new set of rules aimed at MMA and have the athletic comity review them.
Dana can say "you shouldn't leave it in the judges hands" all he wants but the judging should favor the clear cut winner even if he's landing leg kicks as apposed to the odd shot to the head.

Irrelevant.

And by no means did he commit career suicide. Any promotion would jump at the opportunity to snag him back up, no matter what was said.

I think that conversation about this topic is best left to other sites. Its pretty hard to discuss this with out vulgarity and fighter bashing.... for me at least.

Frankly I agree with most of what he said. I don't think the fight was boring, but I can understand how people view Machida as a boring fighter. If his opponent doesn't rush him, his fights do end up being pretty boring because he won't engage. It is up to him to fight however he wants to though, and his style works. Against anyone not named Shogun that is.

He's right about the judges though. It's really bad. Not just this one fight but consistently, every event. Of course it is somewhat ignorant to blame the UFC, but they definitely have the power to put pressure on the athletic commissions even if they don't pick the judges themselves.

There's also no chance of Rampage committing career suicide. When fighters reach a certain level of celebrity they can basically say and do anything they want and they will still have a job because they sell tickets. Rampage might not be the biggest draw, but he's certainly more popular than the vast majority of fighters.
