why it is that most their records are wrong?

is it because they dont have all the statistics of all the fighters or is it that the fighters dont have records of the wins and losses because its too small of an org.

or is sherdog lazy?

somebody please tell me why most of their fighters records are wrong

Many fights take place in small or remote venues that don't get picked up by the fight records and all of the old fights and many of the current ones aren't run through a state sanctioning committee (foreign shows, Indian reservation shows, etc.) so the recrods aren't that clear. On the other side, there are a lot of fighters and promoters that try to inflate records. So any fight recording service has to set certain standards to consider a fight legitimate..such as a videorecording or the word of a trusted promoter.

In my experience FCfighter (www.fcfighter.com/database) has more complete records than Sherdog, including some amateur bouts. I usually check both of those places if I am really interested in a fighter's record.

I bet the Sherdogs for Martin Kampmann and Rampage are both right since it says they have more fights then the UFC says and they have proof of each fight, and if you look at the UFCs websites there are undefeated fighters whose only fight in the UFC is a loss. So its hard to find a 100 percent accurate keeping of records

Yea, if you look at Rickson's record you'll see that sherdog missed a few fights.

Considering that I spend alot of time adding results to my own website's database I can say that FC Fighter usually has more results than Sherdog. As for accuracy who the hell knows really. I generally use a whole bunch of different sources to try and verify the information as best I can before I slap into my database.
