what does everyone think about this? seems kind of dumb, because both are coming off of losses. I dont get it. But the last fight was close. Tito round 2 TKO

i think forrest will be a little bit hungrier this time around.. he took the loss to jardine pretty hard and i think he'll want to prove himself so if it happens i say forrest via judges split decision

If it happens do you want to wager on it ? I dont think forrest is on Tito's level. ill bet 100 to your 30

how can you say they're not on the same level.. the first time they fought it was awfulyl close, people even think forrest wonthat fight.. and for the "tito was hurt" exdcuse, i dont believe it cuz tito makes up too many excuses for me.. the boy who cried wolf routine

I wouldn't mind seeing them fight again although it's definitley not on my top 25. I see Tito coming out a lot stronger this time, his hands looked really good against Chuck so I'm sure it wouldn't be the same fight as before.

i wouldn't mind seeing it, i mean Barnett and Big Nog fought 2 times in under 4 months and the second fight was still awesome. I could see this fight being more exciting because they are both coming off of a lose.

Tito didn't cry when Chuck beat him.

I don't think they would have these two fight again so soon. They've only had one match apiece since they fought each other? There's plenty of guys at 205, and I don't think this match was compelling enough to justify a rematch.

doesnt interst me forrest isnt close to a headliner and the first fight wasnt that good. barnett and nog are 2 of the top heavyweights in the world both would beat tim silvia in my opinion

Not much of a interesting fight but lets hope forrest whoops his ass.

I really want to see a rematch. I know that Tito had 3 injuries, and one was a slipped disc which hurts like hell... Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing Tito at 100% vs Forrest at 100%. I know Forrest lost to Jardine, but I think Forrest would beat Jardine 7/10 times. Sometimes guys get caught, and that's what happened. I think if he would have clenched with Jardine after getting rocked, that he could have recovered.

Forrest has improved his striking since their fight imo, and is less wild then he was before...still wild, but seemed less than before. I think that they obviously both want to get back on a winning streak, but I would like to see them fight someone else in the 205 inbetween their rematch.

It's a little too soon for me, maybe 2 months or so.

i agree that there are plenty of guys at 205 to put them against.......id love to see forrest against rashad, so maybe we can find out who the real contender is supposed to be.........tito/jardine would be more interesting, 2 guys who have both beat forest recently

I know I'm a tito fan and I know this will sound bias, but trust me I'm not trying to be. I think this is a bad match up for Forrest. I really don't seem him pulling out a win on this one. If he looses this one, it's two looses in a row. It's a good build up for tito because he can show at 100% he can destroy Forrest. Yeah Forrest stand up is better it's still wild and Tito stand up is more percise and Forrest takedown defense is not that good. I see Tito pulling a Unamious Decision, or a finish by the second round. I want to see a rematch! It's seems too soon, but if you really think it about it's a fight people really want and Forrest is going to be hungrier then over. Possible upset, but I really don't see it.

problem with having 2 fighters both coming off a loss fighting each other is what do you do with the guy who loses....if tito loses against forest where does that put him in the division? and how do you justify then having him fight somebody like rashad when hes got 2 losses in a row

just throwing it out there....not that i dont want to see this fight, just that i think there are other fights that make more sense all around

tito by not crying

This is very true, because one superstar might have to go. But if Tito looses he'll probably retire and live off his money he's made, so I don't think he'd care that much. Possibly one of them may end up fighting for showtime or something. Or Tito going to Pride. But who knows.

i cant see him retiring, his ego is too big and hes still too young...and hes still a good fighter

I can't imagine him retiring anytime soon...

I don't see Tito retiring anytime soon. The guy has a passion for this sport and said he would be back after the last loss to Chuck.
As for Tito/Forrest again... I don't really know how I feel about that one. I don't think it's a very good time for either fighter. I would like to see maybe Tito/Jardine and Forrest fight Rashad. You could make a case for Jardine getting a shot at Chuck, but with Rampage coming in I think we'll see Rampage/Jardine before 'ol Keith gets a title shot. Think about when BJ came back. GSP was next in line but all of a sudden had to fight BJ before he got his shot at Matt. Speaking of... how about a GSP/BJ rematch?

I don't think he'll retire ethier, I was just saying. There's so many opritunities for fighters today, that if one had to go, they can make money somewhere else.

It would be a good fight because nethier want to loose to each other, that's for sure.

im not saying forest/ortiz wouldnt be a good fight, im just saying it would be harder to market...

two fighters who in the last year have no mentionable wins...battle of the losers? good fight, bad for marketing....and i think they need to get tito a win against someone other than a TUF fighter or a shamrock (past his prime, ready for retirement) or its going to start hurting his confidence....of course, that doesnt leave much in that division to choose from........ortiz/babalu? who knows. my vote on what will actually happen is rashad/griffin and ortiz/jardine

this fight makes sense since the division is so shallow...

i say Tito wins but it will be tough...unless Tito got confidence by lasting 3 rounds with chuck and knowing the stoppage was stopped to early....Tito in the condition he fought chuck beats Forrest

tito didnt sound like he got a big confidence boost in the post fight interview....he was one step away from forest after he lost to jardine....

he did get confidence wether it seams like he didnt...he gets confidence by all the fans...and everyone going into his myspace page and telling him he did very well and that it was a bs stoppage

Post fight interviews mean nothing till some time passes and your emotions are not in the way.. and he goes back and watches the fight for himself

I don't see Forrest beating Tito. The first time they fought Tito greatly underestimated Forrest's skills. I don't think that would happen again. Tito even congratulated Forrest after the first fight on how much he put up. But Forrest is one of the purest definitons of a "Banger." He's goes out there, throws bombs, and eats a lot of punches. If you look at him, even when he wins his face as all mashed up. I've watched his defense evolve throughout his UFC career and his loss to Jardine may make him a little more conservative (or timid) but if Tito just goes for the takedown right away I predict Tito by GnP in the first or second.

I also don't see a lot of positive results from any outcome of this fight. Scenario A: Tito wins. I seriously don't see Tito getting another title shot until that belt leaves the hands of Chuck Liddell. Is it going to be a cycle of Tito losing his title shot, fighting one guy, losing his title shot, fighting one guy, etc. With guys coming in like Evans, Jardine, Bisping, and Rampage, title contention isn't going to be a war between 2 or three guys anymore. This would also put Forrest out 3 of his last 4. I'm not sure if he's emotionally stable enough to cope with that. It would be back climbing the ladder all over again.

Scenario B: Forrest Wins. Again where does he go from there? Griffin/Bisping? I think guys like Rampage, Evans, or Jardine, if not fighting Chuck should be fighting each other to determine whoe DOES fight Chuck. They probably wouldn't be happy to be matched with Griffin while another guy takes his shot at the title. And where does that Leave Tito? If he's not the champ or #1 contender then what is he, just another LHW?

These guys both need to be fed some wins. They are HUGE names in American MMA and forerunners in the mainstreaming of the sport. Forrest the first TUF champion and Ortiz who's been one of the most popular MMA fighters for damn near a decade. You ask people who don't even watch MMA and they've still heard the name Tito Ortiz. These guys still sell tickets and PPVs so I think Dana may be racking his brain on how to give them the longevity they need with the UFC fans.

I don't think that would be a good match up for Forrest, at least not right now. He needs a fight to get his confidence back up, as probably does Tito. Either way, I think we'd see a much different Tito in the rematch IMO. Tito by ref stoppage

it will be an alright fight, i think tito stole the last fight with the last takedown

it had been 14 months since Tito stepped into the cage..he had "Gitters"(as Rampage says) to work out....plus he had a knee injury

Tito by ref stoppage sounds about right ...(1st round)

I don't care who Tito fights as long as he gets KTFO!
