You and a lot of other people, me included. Too bad the BCS generates too much money for the involved parties, that'll keep a playoff from not happening soon.

All I want is a mix of both. Take the top 12 teams by the end of the season a do a 2 bracket tournament with #1 and #2 getting a bye in the 1st round. That should solve it.

Just read a Yahoo Sports article where one of their writers suggested a 16-team system comparable to the Basketball tournament:

My suggestion would be an 8-team playoff with the Top 8 BCS teams. Use the BCS bowls as quarterfinals, then 2 more games as semis, then finally the title game.

College football playoffs would generate an insane amount of money as well. They are also very much needed.

The team that really is getting screwed is Texas Tech. They're stuck in 7th in the BCS and are the odd team out, instead of still being in national title contention and going to the conference championship they're likely "stuck" with the Cotton Bowl. I've heard that the Big 12 likely will reconsider its tiebreaker scenarios in wake of this, but as always probably of little consolation to Tech right now.

I like the NCAA basketball style way for NCAA football. Top 16 teams in the bracket style. Then you could pick the winners like in march madness.

i would love to see a 16 team tourny. it gives one or two loss teams from big confrences like the sec and big 12 a chance to prove that they are better than these undefeated and one loss teams like boise st, utah, and usc or vice versa. and it also gives teams like boise st and utah a chance at the title that they are yearly deprived of a chance at.

i also dont see how a 16 team tourny consisting of 15 games could make soo much less money than just 16 regular bowl games if not more.
