The potential dream match-up between B.J. Penn and Georges St. Pierre has a definite chance to become a reality. According to UFC President Dana White only one (big) hurdle remains.

If St. Pierre buzzsaws through (Jon) Fitch then yes, we’ll do Penn vs. GSP,” said White.

White also confirmed that he and Penn discussed the match-up on Saturday and ran through many of the details.

I talked with B.J. - we met for most of the day,” said White.

I hope it happens. Their first fight was great. I just hope BJ stays active in the LW division. The UFC has done a good job in my opinion, bringing back the LW's and putting together good matchups. They need an active champ.

DEFEND THE BELTS! This could potentially tie up two belts with two of the most stacked divisions. i want to see this fight as well but between TUF and guys moving to different weight classes we could start seeing less and less main events that are worth watching.

I dont like this fight, its a good fight for penn but gsp gets nothin out of it. Penn could make welterweight and be champ of both weight classes, but there is no way in hell GSP could get down to 155.

GSP wil destroy BJ so no double title for BJ, maybe he will be force to retire after his humiliation by GSP !!!

If BJ's cardio ( which I think his last two fights have shown is great) is where it's suppose to be and looking at the first before Penn got tired, BJ will dominate.

This is horrible match making. Someone should be fired for holding up two titles for so long. Unless BJ abandons his belt (which would suck) this is stupid. I'm actually sick of making the good arguments than just putting it simply. BJ will prob'ly kick his ass, either way it might be a good fight, but in the long run for the business and for the sake of like 4 ppv's that aren't gonna have title fights because of this it's dumb.

can it be a "dream match up" if its already happened?

GSP will finish him.
Last time he was scared of a doctor stoppage.

unless BJ gets him with a thumb again, I see this ending early second round.

that's just great if they fight bj won't defend his title for a whole year as well as gsp defending again around may or so of next year you will put not one but two divisions in a flux

I don't like that the contenders at welterweight that have been putting in their time are getting leap frogged by a lightweight. Penn should at the very least have to take on one fight at welterweight with a guy like Thiago or Diego.

I'd like to see the UFC stop using their posterboys over and over for title shots. Give it to the guys that have earned it. Of course it's a business and you want to have title fights that sell big on PPV, but it looks like crap to me.
