A ‘Phoenix' Rises From Japan

Not many are very familiar with UFC middleweight Yushin Okami, let alone that his nickname is "Thunder." As a reference to Japanese pro-wrestler Jyushin Thunder Liger, the homage is perhaps lost on most of the Western audience.

Just a strange comment, but I thought it is kin d of neat that

Okami is wolf in Japanese and the other guy's "last name" is Liger, which is an animal that is a cross between a Tiger and Lion.

Wasn't Yushin Liger a WWF star back in like the 1980's?? Okami must have been a big time fan..
