Philho's going to help chuck....

The JJ and Judo blackbelt, Paulo Filho will travel December 8th to USA to make his first title defence against Chael Sonnen, at WEC 21, which will happen in Dec. 12th. In an exclusive interview for TATAME, Filho told us his preparation for the fight, and about his invitation to train Chuck Liddell for his fight with Wanderlei Silva. "I would never train an American to fight against a Brazilian. I am not a slut, or a prostitute" said the WEC champion.

Couture and Wandy?

Looks like some (ex)BTT members hate Americans more than Chute Boxe guys. lol

With Wanderlei training with Randy and Filho training with Gonzaga, man if Chuck started training with Filho and Gonzaga, we have the potential to start rival camps in North America. lol

What a strange thing to say.

That's kind of messed up. I understand loyalty and ties, but come on. Couture and Wandy are helping eachother out. It's about a sport and people. Now, if you're in the same camp as Wandy, of course you're not going to help Chuck. Sometimes I don't understand people's motivations and their decisions and loyalties. I thought BTT and Chute Box Academy were rivals, but damn, they'd probably join forces to beat American fighters.

I hope for Filho that he will never request the help of ANY American for a fight's preparation because his words are going to bounce in his face !!

This kind of Brazil against American or American against Canadian may work in the small league but at the UFC level, you need to have the best peoples possible to help you, who care where they come from !

I'm now Paulo Fhilho's biggest fan...

But like has already been stated, this is going to have some blowback for Paulo when he starts to lose (which he will eventually), and when he wants to work on his game, he'll probably go looking for someone outside of his country.

if wandy actually helped forrest prepare for shogun than i agree that is whorish. the whole america vs brazil thing is silly though. that is very different than selling out your teammate who didnt fight you for the 205 title out of loyalty. it will be a real shame if wandy beats chuck and somehow ends up with the belt before shogun gets a chance at it. if so i hope that shogun says screw it and justs fights wandy, because he cant wait in the wings forever...

No he didn't help Forrest train, but I didn't want people to single out one guy when it could have been aimed at another. Randy's been called out about this before, Hendo was pissed when Couture helped Page. I for one don't see a problem with anyone helping anyone, but if someone I trained with was helping out my upcoming opponent, i'd be a little pissed, and woulden't have a problem helping his next opponent.
