UFC heavyweight Pat Barry learned the hard way that there’s no substitute for experience.

“It was very apparent that (grappling) wasn’t second nature to me,” the UFC heavyweight tells MMAWeekly.com. “In a (stand-up) fight, if I got stunned, I would naturally throw jabs on punches until I came back. I’m not a wrestler or jiu-jitsu guy so when I get stung... doing anything on the ground is not something that’s natural to me.”

I don't know...Hardonk's BJJ is pretty decent. It would be a smart gameplan to finish it early than take his chances. And I could see than happening.

I have to disagree, I think just like barry said hardonks best chance of winning is on the ground, and the fact that barry seems to have zero confidence in his ground game I think kind of reinforces that. Hardonk just recently got schooled in kickboxing by a superior striker (Kongo) and I dont think it would be smart for him to try it a second time in a row, the outcome likely the same.

On a side note, Barry needs to get a ground game and get confidence in it or else it wont take long for him to be on the outside looking in and find himself going back to pure kickboxing.

Though it will most likely end up being a stand up fight, I have to agree with the two posters above, Hardonk has a good chance at submitting him, I mean another loss for either would suck for then, I see Hardonk KO'ing him in the fight, but I woun't be suprised if he subs him.

I agree I kind of think that Hardonk may win this fight using his submission skills!!!
