Cubs still look like the team to beat with 100 losses first time this has happened since 1966 I believe.

Medlan has been solid but he started against a grand total of 1 team (Washington twice) who are in the playoffs or in the playoff hunt. Marlins 3x, Mets 3x, Padres 2x, Astros and Rockies. Not necessarily a tough stretch. He has yet to pitch in a pressure packed game, and STL is a far better team than any of those mentioned except Washington. Wainright, Carpenter and Lohse have all pitched in World Series games, but I don`t have much faith in Lohse pitching well in this 1 game playoff.

It'll be a great game and if the Braves win, I will be cheering for them to win the pennant. I'd love to see Chipper go deep in the playoffs, but my team comes first

Yeah I've been a Cards fan since Mark McGuire was swatting bombs and breaking records...I was like 9 at the time so I was easily influenced. Then Jim Edmonds came aboard and he quickly became my favourite player. I follow and cheer for the Jays too but STL is my team.

Well, it looks like fantasy baseball is over. Dave, you and I went at it in the finals. Seems like the lead changed every day. Great season man.

The same Detroit Tigers that struggled to overcome the mighty White Sux? ;-)

I really have no serious rooting interest. It's been football season for this Cubs fan since March.

I'm with my Braves. But I won't be surprised if they get routed by StL tomorrow. As every team from the state of GA, the Braves know how to fuck it up in big games.

This is my list from most to least that I want to see winning it all

ATL
CIN
OAK
BAL
TEX
DET
STL
NYY
SF
WAS

Gotta have STL last because if they advance it's because they beat the Braves

Brian McCann benched for tomorrow's one game playoff

YEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess I fail as a Braves fan in the fact that I hate "GIDP rally-killer McCann". I've been saying all season that yes, best Catcher hitter bla bla bla and will win a few games per months with his bat but it is more often and probable that he will fuck it up big time and kill every rally. Plus his Defense SUUUUCKSS, and to me Catcher is a defense/alert first position. Also Ross has been hot lately so I like this move a lot (with the exception of the propability of we needing a PH in a clutch situation and he comes up to fuck it up, I really really hope that he shuts my mouth though).

Go Braves!!

hot lately? Ross hit .205 in September. I agree that the catcher should be a defense first position, but that isn't the way of today's game. For the most part, the better defensive catcher is the backup where anything you get offensively is a bonus...to use the Blue Jays as an example, their backups last 2 seasons were Jeff Mathis and Jose Molina - 2 solid defensive guys with limited offensive capabilities.

Medlen vs Lohse is the pitching matchup...as good as Lohse has been this year I don't have a lot of confidence in him to win a crucial game. I hope I'm wrong though

Whoops, I mean, I thought he was hot. Hahaha been busy and haven't watch games. I was basing it on twitter play by play. Anyways, I still don't like McCann.

Loshe had one start against us and we crushed him. But again, ATL likes to fuck it up in big games so I won't be surprised if he delivers a perfecto tomorrow.

Joe Saunders vs Yu Darvish for the AL Wild Card game. We will see whether Darvish was worth the money. After a terrible July and August, he pitched his best month of the season. Saunders wouldn't be my choice to pitch this game, but since Tillman pitched the other night, Saunders gets the nod. I expect a high scoring game

As a Tigers fan I'll be routing for Baltimore. I don't want to see the dangerous Rangers again in the post season.
I can see the Tigers getting past the A's but mad props to the A's for on making the playoffs. Who would have thought.

As a kid a really liked the A's. McGwire, Canseco, Ricky and Dave Henderson, Dave Stewart, Dennis Eckersley, Bob Welch etc. That was a squad.
