That’s the latest from Brian Knapp of The Fight Network:

Nick Diaz will seek out the assistance of Las Vegas-based plastic surgeon Frank Stile in order to repair the considerable scar tissue that has developed around his eyes. Kit Cope, the man who cornered the 24-year-old in his failed attempt to win the EliteXC lightweight title at EliteXC “Renegade” on Saturday in Corpus Christi, Texas, made the announcement after the bout.

Says Kit Cope:

“He didn’t get hit with anything hard,” Cope said. “It’s just that he’s got some gnarly cuts. There were a couple of fights [in his past] where he got cut and then band aided it, you know … didn’t get any good stitches, so he’s got a lot of scar tissue. You breathe on the guy, and he gets cut.”

“KJ Noons – Karl – you’re not even in the same league,” Cope said. “You’re luckier than a dog with two peckers.”

Probably a good move by Nick Diaz to get this taken care of. He’s a young fighter and he’s bound to get hit in the face a lot more times in his career.

up until this fight, i loved diaz. And it wasnt because of his exit.. thats part of the reason i liked him haha.. it was cause he was shooting takedowns that my little sister could've sprawled, and basically being dominated by someone that he should've been able to handle. Hopefully getting this scar tissue will help take care of him being cut so easily, but this doode needs to him the gym and train his ass off if he wants to go around calling himself p4p the best fighter in the world

If this works, Fedor can get it to and not have to worry about his biggest flaw.

whatever nick's problems are and were in this fight saying it is from a lack of work and that he needs to get in the gym is laughable. the guy is in as good a cardio as anyone in mma,he runs friggin 50 mile ultra marathons on his days off. i dont think he looked good either in his last two fights but the problem isnt a lack of work ethic.

The luckier then a dog with two peckers analagy was hilarious, but the truth is Noons looked a lot better than Diaz that night so i wouldnt say he got lucky he just had the better night.....

Nick Diaz can do whatever he want, even fighting with a goaller face mask , but it doesn't going to change the fact that he was completely outclass against K J and even if he pretent to be a slow starter and bla bla bla , he was losing this fight !!

I didnt know surgery was a possibility. It was my understanding that there isnt much they can do to fix scar tissue. I was under the impression that you could have surgery to repair it, but that the surgery just created new scar tissue, so whats the point. Maybe I am just clueless.

i still respect diaz talent an still like the stoner his last 2 showings werent that great but he has had good fights, an for plastic surgey his eye looked messed up an prolly doing it sith surgey would the scar tissue heal fully then healing off stitches.

Wait, I'm not worried about the whole Nick Diaz thing, because frankly he needs it after the hurting Noons put on him..

What i'm wanting to know is how Kit "I Failed A Drug Test" Cope, can even speak anything about KJ Noons. Get a few wins without drugs in your system, and gain the respect of the fans, and then I might consider your opinion on things..

im pretty interested to see how this turns out for diaz

hopefully theres no mistakes with his surgery, some plastic surgeons are gods but some can just be very dangerous
