What are your teams needs and whom do you hope they get? Personally im a St Louis Rams fan and any defensive help possible would be great. I hope they draft a pass rusher or a good DT.

Dallas has no definite holes after free agency, but there are some guys that could help. I would prefer they trade up and get Alan Branch ,because Ferguson is old for a NT in the 3-4, and he would be ideal. If Reggie Nelson or Brandon Merriweather falls to us at FS t,hey would be a possibility because we only signed Hamlin for one year, At receiver Jarrett, Meacheam, or Bowe would be good. I'm hoping TO won't be here after this year. Failing that Justin Harrel could also play NT. A corner like Ross or Houston to play the nickle. Lynch if he fell that far at RB, would be hard to pass up. Last I would say Blaylock or Grubbs at G.They will probably take the best player available. The later rounds will all be defined by what they do in the first. No matter who we get, whoever trades up for Jhonson , if the raiders don't take him, will be the winner in my book. As for the rams I think they should take Branch or Okoye if they fall that far. It's possible Willis could fall to them, but I doubt it.

Im from Ohio and watch the Browns but not really a huge fan.... I watch all the nfl and pay more attention to fantasy NFL that rooting for 1 team.

I dont know if I want to see the Browns get Peterson or Quinn with the 3rd pick overall... I feel Cleveland is cursed and it wont matter who they get... they will end up being a bust anyway(probably)..

Browns took Joe Thomas... I guess that is a safe bet

I would have liked Cleveland to take a risk on a big name like I said before but it just never works out for the Browns...

Hopefully Joe Thomas will be a solid lineman for 10+ years

the packers front office is horrible. i cant believe their picks, then after months of rumors about randy moss they cant work out a deal for him and NE gets him for a 4th?????? with 15 million dollars in cap room they better have some big moves planned or its gonna be a sad swan song for brett favre.

Minnesota snatched up AP... I didn't think they had the balls to pull it off (always seem to pass on the really talented guys), and stave injury, I think he'll be the next best thing... *fingers-crossed*

Two recievers, Rice and Allison, 2nd and 4th (I think)... Rice I think will make an immediate impact, as we have no real wideouts to speak of, and Allison might make it on special teams and as the fourth guy, I know they have questioned his work ethic, but we'll see...

Decent CB from Fresno, MacCaully (?), we need a little more depth in the secondary, have a great run stopping D but looked hapless against the pass...

Robison (DE Tex) will hopefull add that needed pass rush to help out the overworked secondary, and I can't believe they got Rufus Alexander (LB Okla) in the 6th, what a steal... I think he's another immediate impact guy...

The last two picks kinda stumped me... A tiny wideout from FL In't??? I don't know much about him, but 5'10" and like 185... Maybe kick / punt return or something?

And the division 1-AA quarterback who hadn't completed more than 50% of his passes until his senior year... Whatever...

All in all, I give the draft a B++... I think it would have been close to perfect if we could have gotten a decent QB prospect... I guess I don't know how the kid they got in 7th will pan out, but as of right now we have no one to get the ball out of the back field besides Chester and AP... I guess they have more faith in Tavarius Jackson than the majority of MN does...

I think Timmons was a good pick... They say he's a little rough around the edges, but I think he'll mature into a monster on the outside...

What the hell were they doing trading up, just to draft a punter in the fourth round???

Drafting a punter I have no problem with, I am just wondering weather it was really needed to trade up to get him. Well they have a much better understanding of it than I do, and if you've got to fill a spot; you got to fill a spot right?

Was that TE, Matt Spaeth from the U of MN? If it is, he was originally projected to go 1st or 2nd round, and could be a great steal... I know they got Miller, but having a huge guy like that is good from a blocking aspect, and if they're running a lot of 2 TE sets, he'll be a perfect fit... Remeber Eric Green before he turned into a crack head? That'd be pretty comparable (pre-crackhead that is)

Ahhh, Faneca getting traded?!?!? I never really question what they do over there, because they always seem to have a youngster waiting in the wings to fill in the voids of free agency / trading etc... But that seems like it would be a big loss to me... Makes more sense as to why they picked him up though.

Yeah Faneca hasnt been showing up to the voluntary camps..which well i mean they are voluntary so you dont have to be there..But from what i hear is...he wasnt to pleased that Russ Grimm or Whisenhunt didnt get the HC job.and hes not happy with his contract.Seeing how the steelers do i dont see them giving any 30yr old a long term deal..Pro Bowler or not look at all the LB's that have gone after some good years as Steelers..Porter,Greene,LLoyd,Dawson, they got rid of Woodson too..Steelers FO really dont believe in signing guys long term that are getting up in age. They seem to always rebuild threw the Draft at least with Cowher as coach. But im just a fan not an expert..so who knows what they're thinking.all i do is hope for the best.as long as we keep Troy and Ben..we got the foundation on O and D for a while.I really hate the big ben haters...i mean yeah he dont put up numbers like Peyton and Carson..but the kid wins...and last year i dont think he was close to 100%..so well have to see this year what happens..

It seems like the FO has always made the right choice... They let Plex go a couple of years ago, and it didn't seem to hurt them... And you're right with the LB thing... A friend of mine was shocked, how could they let Porter go? And it didn't really bother me... At least while Cower was there, you knew that they would have a cohesive, hard-nosed football team... That won as a team or lost as a team, but there weren't your TO's and Randy Moss's... There really was always a minimum of selfish players... And I've always liked that they weren't scared to bring in younger guys after releasing top caliber veterans... And the youngsters always seemed to fill the void well... I think it's a system thing, kinda like almost any running back can have run in the Denver system... Tomlin is a ?, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see... I live in MN now, and got to watch what he did with the Vik's D last year and was thoroughly immpressed, take that for what it's worth...

I totally agree with you on the Ben comment... I think he's got all the tools in the world... And most of all he has a great head on his shoulders and doesn't seem to make as many mistakes as a lot of rookies or even seasoned QB's do... Unfortunatley with him, it's the "what have you done for me lately" syndrom that you see a lot of in MMA... I think he really started to put things together at the end of the season, and expect great things from him for years to come

Hopefully The Panthers come back this season fresh, and ready.

Damn... Can't beleave they cut Keyshawn Johnson. You can't rely on just smith, and thats why Keyshawn Johnson didn't get much action they rely on smith too much. I think that was a really bad move. I didn't think Keyshawn Johnson did too bad given that he wasn't used that much, and it was his 1st season with the panthers. Maybe these new guys might develope into something great.. never know...

Jake is really the one that needs replaced if he keeps tossing away games in the 4th quarter. It's like he gets nervous, and tosses the game away after owning the 1st/2nd quarters. I just don't understand what happens to him sometimes.

SO close to the super bowl so many times(jackson boob lol!!)! maybe we will get it this time around!

I think Jarret is a younger, faster, less polished Keyshawn. Not near the blocker of course, but Keyshawn wasn't when he came into the leagu either. He also has improved his route running. When he was in Dallas the word was he was running a 4.8 when they finally decided to cut him and sign TO. Personally I still would have kept him over TO, because he at least listened to and resapected Parcells. As for Delhomme I admit when Quinn was falling I thought they might take him, Still they had one of the better drafts IMO. Morgan's always hurt ,and theirs rumors he has concussion syndrome, so Beason is a good pick. He can play all the linebacker spots. Kalil should have been a low first rounder, and is a better center than Mangold was coming out, and he had a great rookie year and went in the first last year. I admit despite all the rumors I thought Jarret would still go at the bottom of the first to Indy. I figured they would move Harrison into the slot on 3 reciver sets and put Jarret out wide.Charles Johnson had a better year than his highly touted teamamte Moses and can contribute right now.Shaw is good middle linebacker prospect, but not fast enough to play on 3rd down. Robinson reminds me of Sinorice Moss, and could be a good 3rd down optoion, and return specialist.Dante Rosario is a great athlete and I think he will flourish if they just let him play one position and learn it. So on the whole I think Carolina had the best draft, with Arizona , Atlanta, and Clevland a tie for 2nd.

Yea nice post I hope your right. I don't get into the draft much I just watch them play :) More of a softcore NFL fan, and hardcore mma :) only room for 1!!!

Thanks for the details. Maybe it's not all bad, and Keyshawn is getting old.

I believe it came about via trades. Be thankful though, had SF not done alright near the end the Pats could've had the #2 pick.
