Next month, the UFC and Spike TV will unveil its newest edition of The Ultimate Fighter. Because of the presence of former internet phenom Kimbo Slice, it is expected to be the highest-rated of the show's 10-season run. But for the sport's long-term growth, the more important element could be the inclusion of four former NFL players.

I have been saying for a while that the next step in MMA is being able to attract some of the top end athletic talent away from the more established sports. Hopefully TUF 10 furthers us to that goal. If MMA is an attractive alternative to those who would otherwise specialize in football we could see a huge growth in the sport, especially at HW.
