Why are you congratulating him on getting a TV???

It's not like he's getting married.

Anyway whatever, nice tv bro

The day I can bring home a huge flat screen LCD will deserve congrats because that means I have landed a great job that will allow me to afford one. Right now I just hope my 32" beast of a tube doesn't cack in the next 4 years.

If you have a local Wal-mart of Sams Club they sell nice tv's rather cheap i got my 37" inch Vizio at sams club for 700 bucks about 2 years ago..Now you can probably get it for less..At the time i never heard of Vizio and when i got there they had one next to a Sony and a Samsung and the Vizio looked just as crisp as the Sony and other top brand the biggest difference was the price tags.A few of my friends went out a bought Vizios after mine..No one has had any trouble with theirs so id reccomend them...You can check out their website..Their actually now the offcial TV on the NFL they have LT in those stupid commercials last season.BUt either way you can get a nice LCD flat panel over 30"s for 400 to 500 price range.I bought mine when i got my tax returns though. But i dont have kids or a wife and my car is paid off so i dont really have the same necessites as some of you..so to me droppin 700 on a tv felt good.

Don't get me wrong, I could buy one if I wanted to, but it's not on the list of priorities right now so without more dispensible cash, it's not on the "to buy" list. Also, I'll most likely be moving to the US in about a year. I really want to keep all my old TV, stereo, etc. until I move back and start a real career. By then I can get a great HDTV for a lot less and not have to worry about it getting damaged with all the moving.

I'm also a stickler for buying quality items, which is why my TV still runs well after 12 years and my computers last twice as long as the average one. My stereo speakers work as well as the day I bought them and they are 15 years old. lol

but when I record with my DVR it switches the High Def to 480
