I am new and I would like to take this time to introduce myself to all of you. Some of you will become enemies and some will become e-friends but, regardless, we will have fun either way.

My search to find the perfect mma site has led me here. Who knows how long I will stay - but that pretty much depends on you, the forum members as you will determine how much I like or hate this place by your greetings and first impressions.

Let the trials of KFM begin.

Welcome......playground is a great site..... after a little time I'm sure you'll think so to.

New guy is here to introduce himself and there has been 3 views and no replies. Is this the kind of hospitality you treat new members?

Do I have to prove myself before I am worthy to be talked to????

Thanks for the welcome, sparky. I have been to many sites but all have turned out stale after a while.

What can you tell me about this site? Is there good traffic, and are the mods corrupt etc...???

I am basically surveying a few mma sites at the moment. I left the ufc, 5knuckles, UG, cameldog, and Junkie because all of those sites have disappointed me in one way or another whether it was the atmosphere or the staffers.

I will post here for at least a few days to a week to make an accurate assessment of this site and determine once and for all whether this will be my next home.

Any contributions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you. I look forward to sharing discussions with all of you. May I ask you, in your opinion, how is the traffic on this site?

This has been the only MMA site that I haven't been disappointed in, and I've been through 5-6 different sites. All I can say is check it out for yourself for a week or so and see how your feeling it. Be warned, though. There are very intelligent posters here, and if you look for a fight about certain MMA subjects I'm sure someone would be happy to oblige and give you a run for your money.

I just read the rules and regulations of this site and I concur to every bit of it. However, is humor accepted here? I am talking about the annoying type of humor..

I guess I have to post more and read more to find out.

I am not worried. I am how would you say it ...- well rounded hehe. I have been following the sport ever since the days of Shamrock and Gracie. What I do not know, I make up for it with my wit and intelligence and google helps a lot too.

To be honest, I can play in the roughest of all playgrounds and in the most prestigious of playgrounds. I have posted all over the internet boards and there is nothing I will not be prepared for...

My main concern is I would like decent traffic and overall good and intelligent posters who will be good sparring partners.

The traffic can vary. When there are consistent MMA events occuring, traffic is good. During holidays or when there's a long gap in action, traffic can dip a bit. It's a good group of people here though, so it makes for an enjoyable experience. The PG is a good one-stop-shop though too. Besided the forums, it's a good place to read news, there's a video section...and that's not even including the fantasy game, which is the best on the web.

Humor is always welcome here. As long as you're respectful of others, I doubt there will many issues.

I am excited about the fantasy leagues and, as soon as I figure out how to play it, I will definitely join.

It will take time to figure out everything. So far, you guys seem to be more mature than most of the members I have interacted with from other sites.

I saw Gracie and Shamrock on VHS - that gives you a clue as to how old I am.

I like the site so far and I hope not to be disappointed like all the others I have been to...

My humor will not target any member in particular unless I am directly speaking to them - and if I was talking to them directly, the humor would be geared toward humor rather than insult.

Is there a section where all of my questions can be answered if I pose them?

Welcome KFM. Good luck with the picks and wagers. So let's hear who your favorite fighters are. I'm more of a Andy Wang, Kalib Starnes guy myself

Pretty sure you've found yourself a good home then. This site has everything. I've been all over the mma forums, mmajunkie, mmamania, sherdog, bloodyelbow, hell, everywhere and this is by far the best site for discussions. Not much trolling going on here, which is great. But don't take my word for it, search around and I'm sure you'll see it for yourself.

I don't see you leaving anytime soon friend so welcome to the Playground and enjoy the stay. Also, I ask this to almost all the new guys, who is your favourite fighter?

LOL

A few of my favorites are Fedor, Couture, Mir, Sakuraba, Faber, Big Nog and Machida.

Fighters who are growing on me at the moment are Overeem, Cain, Hominick, Bones, and Pacquiao.

Even-though I do have favorites, I try to remain objective when discussing upcoming matches. For example, I predict Nelson to prevail over Mir due to two reasons.

1. Mir has minimal take down abilities.
2. Cardio may be the biggest factor in this fight which will definitely favor Nelson.

I hope this is the site. I am tired of moving around. Everywhere I have been to I am well received, but things just turn out sour after a while.

As far as my favorite of all time, I do not think I have one. It is difficult to choose one and leave another behind. I'll give you three names:

Fedor, Couture, and Sakuraba
Budgellism

Those are three pretty powerful names in mma right there, good stuff. I agree with you. I actually spent almost a year just using the bloodyelbow forums until I realized it was not the place for me (being banned helped that, lol.) Once you get yourself involved with the side games, the forums and the fight camps you'll be hooked.

I just recently gave cameldog a try. That place is filled with scums. I like humor and fun and sometimes flame wars , but there needs to be some sort of balance which cameldog did not have.

But anyway, I hope this site meets my requirements.

Just leave them alone. Your picks don't actually lock in until the day of the fight. You can check who gave you props by looking at the my props tab in the header. It's in yellow.

You guys have been very helpful and accepting of new members. I am sure I will have more questions in the coming days and or weeks.
