Rest in peace Ramon Dekkers. A sad day for the combat sports community. I always enjoyed his forward moving style of fighting. Although I didn't agree with his recent comments towards Alistair a few weeks ago, I still respect the man immensely.

This is a loss. I had never heard of him until i came to this site. I was talking to Svatrtorm on the phone one day and he was tryin got interets me in K-1 an other combat sports. He started listing off names I had never heard of and I made notes and promised to look some of them up..Since I was home for months healing from an inury and had way too much time, I started seraching the net for info on thse guys..Dekkers story appealed to me most. He often fought guys way out of his weight class, was younger than the guys he was fighting early on, the first foregner to ever get fighter of the year in Thailand, and even fought when he was hurt and shouldn't have, I know highlight reels may not be the best way to judge a fighter, but this was and still is my favorite combat sports highlight reel. Thanks Svartorm.

No problem man!

Loved the guy's style and incredible grit. He fought Duane Ludwig with a torn rotator cuff and literally couldn't punch with his power hand. Not only did he win, he beat the tar out of Ludwig and dropped him at least four times in the fight, but couldnt finish him because he was only able to throw jabs and hooks.

Wasn't he in the twilight of his career at the time and Bang was at his peak? Just unreal.
