What would MMA stars be doing now if there was no MMA?

Do you think any of them would be competing in other sports, teaching martial arts classes, working as bouncers/bodyguards or just getting a regular job/education?

Considering that's what a couple of fighters have been doing or are going to try (Noons, Arlovski) I'd have to say quite a few would probably be doing boxing. Otherwise education & jobs seem most likely.

Corry Hill would be the face of weight watchers. Arlovski would probably be a model or some sort of god, I'm not quite sure witch yet but i do know people would still love him!

Rich Franklin would be Jim Carreys stunt double, and Houston Alexander would sign on for the come back of "In Living Colour" as the long lost Wayans brother...

Matt Hughes: Highway Patrolman

Phil Baroni: Porn Star

Jason Miller: Dance instructer

Rampage: Pro-wrestler

Wandy: Well.............. An axe murderer

Nick Thompson would be a paralegal...and might still be a very legal very soon

Marcus Davis would have continued to be a bar owner (he would not have continued boxing imo)

Aoki would find his niche in the sports of Judo and Jiu-Jitsu

Bisping would be taking any low level job he could get while he had some kickboxing fights for extra money

One of the questions I have is whether a guy who's shown a lot of athleticism in MMA, like Georges St. Pierre, could transfer that apparent strength/speed/coordination to boxing, football or some other sport. They require those same attributes, but generally speaking people who look great at one sport look shockingly mediocre tyring to apply it elsewhere.

Many of them would have probably gone on to do regular jobs--maybe a few wrestling coaches and martial arts instructors. There would be a lot less BJJ instructors, and probably some guys would have never been introduced to BJJ at all.

A lot of these guys had your "average Joe" jobs before MMA and that's probably what they would still be doing. No doubt there are some really athletic guys in MMA, but sports like baseball and football etc--not only require you to be a 1 in a million athlete, but also require that you start off early on in High School and youth leagues. It's not like MMA where you can jump in like Randy Couture. That sort of thing happens all the time in MMA with guys that maybe wrestled some years back in high school. You never see a guy in any of the major sports come out of nowehere at thirty years old and come out to play 1B for a major league team on the other hand.

Those last two posts make me think of another option or two: Pro Wrestlers or Actors. I think some people have the look, charisma and desire to be in front of the camera. It's easy for me to picture guys like Tito Ortiz or Vitor Belfott doing that kind of thing--as a matter of fact they have already dipped their feet in it.

well with the whole acting thing you have to question some of those guys only got their roles from their fame in MMA. i can assure you Randy would have never made it as an actor to any degree if he hadn't done MMA.

and as for pro wrestlers, i don't know if too many MMA fighters fit the bill to be pro wrestlers. obviously Brock does since he came from pro wrestling first, but you would need HWs that have a solid background in wrestling, which is in short supply in today's MMA.
