I really loved the concept of ufc 58 which was canada vs. usa but now there are so many top international fighters that you could never do canada vs usa again. I really love the concept where fighters are fighting on the same side. I really think north america vs. the world would make a great fight card for the UFC or mma in general.....
i was thinking --
Main Card:
George St. Pierre (north america) vs. Carlos Condit (world)
Quinton Jackson (north america) vs. Rameau Sokoudjou (world)
Forrest Griffin (north america) vs. Wanderlei Silva (world)
Dan Henderson (north america) vs. Anderson Silva *world)
Undercard:
Brandon Vera (north america) vs. Andrei Arlovski (world)
Tim Sylvia (north america) vs. Cheick Kongo (world)
Sean Sherk (north america) vs. Takanori Gomi (world)
Spencer Fisher (north america) vs. Hayato Sakurai (world)
what do you all think about the Norht America vs. the World idea and what fight card would you make for that event?

Its unbelievable how in over 10 years how competitive the US has become compared to other countries. I still see us second to brazilian fighters but other than that we have produced the best fighter to date

2) "JZ" Calvancante (World) vs. "El Nino" Melendez (N. America)

Well the Americans have evened the playing field in their favour a bit. The main organisations are (now) in the US, and one of the key features of the US organisations is the cage and wrestling oriented rule sets. The "unified rule" set that gets talked about seems wrestling biased too since its practically the UFC rules. Since the US has such a strong wrestling tradition, it helps US fighter when they fight in US orgs. On the flip side, the US is pretty poor for striking, and the ring used in Asian and Russian Organisations evens the playing field. Strikers have a better space to work with, and ropes and corners, and wrestlers have to work for their take downs rather than using cage assistance!
