hey guys and girls, I am presently conducting research into the prevalence and type of injury incurred by mma fighters both competitive and non-competitive.
Please consider taking part in this study as with the recent bad press relating to mma as i'm sure you’re all aware is b.s.
I am myself on the pro side of mma participation and hope that if you guys could spare me a little time i may be able to help remove the metaphorical monkey (in some part anyway) from mma's back.
This research is hopefully going to compare injury in mma to other sports and hopefully show that mma is not as dangerous as other sports. but in advance i'm telling anyone who takes part will obviously remain anonymous, unfortunately to maintain academic integrity i ask anyone who's interested to be as honest as possible and to let the mma community know as a researcher i have to report my results no-matter what they conclude (for or against mma) as much as it pains me to admit it.
With that in mind please don't put your name forward if you try to bias results, statistics will tell, and waste my time!!
The research will comprise of a relatively simple questionnaire which takes 10-15 minutes max to complete. If you are interested please e-mail me at elrimsky@hotmail.com or leave your e-mail here and i'll check on it periodically and contact those interested.
The more people involved the more valid the argument, so please help me and the sport. (good plea huh!!)

maybe you but i and i feel most people watch it for the skill, the heart and mental and physical conditioning required, not just on the off chance someone gets hurt. I think your probably in the minority if you think this sport is as dangerous, in terms of injury frequency and severity as other contact sports..that's what i hope to prove.

I watch it for the simple fact theres nothing better than watching 2 guys beat the crap out of eachother. If I wanted to watch it for the 'physical conditioning', I'd go watch the World's Strongest Man contest or something. To say that MMA injuries aren't as frequent as other contact sports is ludicrous, or you and I are not watching the same MMA organization. I've never seen anyone completely twist their leg after being KO'd by a kick to the head in football, or breaking their hand throwing a punch at another player's helmet. If you're trying to prove that MMA isn't as barbaric as people say, then thats cool, but don't try and say its less violent or injuries don't occur as often as other contact sports. I bet Terrel Owens would cry like a bitch if he received the amount of blows to the head and ribs MMA fighters do.

Djbb you remind me of a mid 90s UFC fan!

I don't fight or train in MMA so I can't take the test, but I've seen far worse injuries in non-contact sports like football than I have in MMA.

wow......Do you know what you're talking about?
What fighter has ended their career because of an injury during a fight? I can list lots of football players who have ended their careers with some kind of knee or leg injury....
