Welcome back to another edition of My Take On MMA! Over the last month we've had two solid SHOWXC events, a very good WEC, a very good Fight Night and a very good Strikeforce event. We've been on a roll and it has been fun. And then I checked the schedule and saw YAMMA on it. This was a show that seemed to be heading towards doom since the beginning. Butterbean as a headliner, I mean, seriously. Frye out and Smith in. Smith in a police chase and out, Goodridge in. Goodridge out, Mark Kerr rolls out of the buffet and in. Smith is back in after a plea-bargain I assume and that wasn't even anything involving the tournament. And then three days before the event they get Ron Waterman as an alternate, not there for the tournament or a fight, there as an alternate. This is going to be fun.

I would say overall it was a pretty lame ass show but...I have seen worse....some of the ShoXC shows have been worse.
One thing I will agree with 100% and I must quote is:

"And if I have to ever hear John Perretti say, "I don't like this jumping stuff" in reference to a superman punch ever again I will fly to where they are and superman punch him in the larynx."

Well said....it was driving me insane as well.

Have not see a worst card since that Strike force in Tacoma with Bob Sapp getting mauld by Giant Norjte. And that whole slope on the floor was wack.

I gave it a D- and the only reason it wasn't an F was because of some of the old school guys they had on....

The announcers were the worst I have ever heard...

The ring was a good Idea that just ended up being a bad one

Maybe they can kill the whole back alley drama announcing and get a real cage

and start a senior MMA org were we can watch all the guys come back from the single digit UFC's (1-9)

Just a poorly put together event with a gimmicky ring and fights between over the hill mediocore fighters nobody cares about. Plus they were chargeing 35 buck for it. Yeah right, not in this lifetime assholes.

"C", cuz of the poor fight card. I liked only the special fights.

FFFFFFFFFFFF.......for total failure......The outer edge in the ring was a horrible idea it just allowed the fight to go directly to the mat as soon as they hit that outer edge....They said it was supposed to increase the action when it did the exact oposite....If they are going to stay in business they need to get rid of that outer edge and get more exciting fighters that are not past their prime....I mean did anybody see Mark Kerr he looked like he has been sitting in bed eating for ther past year......

I gave it a C only because of the tournament setup in a country where most athletic commisions strongly oppose tournaments like this. I didn't care for the sloped ring or the fight matchups, but maybe the matchups were so bad that the we didn't get to see any benefit of the slope.

I like tournaments, sometimes, and would like to see more... just with better fighters.
