MMA Fighter In Critical Condition After KO Loss

After being KO'd in a recent fight, fighter Sammy Vazquez is in critical condition in a hospital and is fighting for his life. His current prognosis is not good.

Neither are particularly well regulated in Texas - I wouldn't be surprised if this was a pre-existing condition he wouldn't have been cleared to fight with in another state. The Texas Boxing Commission sucks BALLS.

When I have some more money as the holidays get closer I plan to make a small donation, I can't afford to give too much but I'd feel good about it knowing I'm doing my part to help them out. Hopefully other people will donate too.

Its a pretty sad situation.. not much information is available on whats going on, but my best wishes are with him and his family. Hopefully someone over at zuffa will step up and make a significant contribution to ensure the wellbeing of him and his family

Salmon’s reported seizure comes on the heels of a life-threatening injury to Sammy Vazquez, who has been in critical condition, since suffering a knockout in a fight that took place on Oct. 20, according to The Fight Network

Vazquez has been in a critical care unit at Saint Joseph’s Medical Center following a third round knockout loss to Vince Libardi on a Renegades Extreme Fighting card in Houston, Texas.

The Fight Network has not updated Vazquez’s status since Nov. 15.

I already posted this news last week when it was on the fight network but guess you didnt see it

why the hell are mmanews only just reporting this? not so much news more of an afterthought of by the way some mma fighter may die

Did he have the massive stroke since the original story... I would think that would degrade his situation considerably

The reported stroke was included in Cornish's original post... Such a shame... but this is a late release by mmanews, this is all old info... Hopefully an update gets released soon... (not knocking the poster, knocking the late releasing news site)

Oh, and to the guy who posted the info about Salmon's seizure: That was a false report, he didnt have a seizure. He was just Ko'ed "normally" (if there is such a thing )

Oh, cool... Just wanted to let you know that it didnt happen in case you were adding it. I know I was concerned for the guy until I read that it was false...

What the hell. I want to know what really happened. Sherdog or MMAWeekley need to report on this and give the full story.
