He also just barely lost to Jeff Monson and gave Arlovski some problems on the ground. I haven't seen Cruz's fight against Cavalcante (who was selected in the 11th round); that fight was called in the 3rd, but I don't know if either guy had gotten the upper hand.

Cruz went 2-2 in the UFC - his first four pro MMA fights, incidentally - and I don't know whether he left of his own accord or they cut his contract. Given the state of the UFC's Heavyweight division these days, I think they should have kept him. Maybe they felt they had too many BJJ guys.

Anyway, I think he was a steal as my last pick. Of course, I may have been helped out by some people not drafting any heavyweights at all...
