UFC 3. I will never forget that day. My friend's dad had a descrambler. His parents went out of town, and we had a party. Someone stumbled across it, and we all were amazed. After watching it about 10 of us went to the back yard, and had our own modified fight club. That kept on through most of high school, and in to college.

I didn't become the hardcore fan I am now till UFC 31. Pedro/Randy 1 was the most amazing thing I have ever seen.

UFC 2, which was out on video before UFC 1 was. I remember seeing that in the video rental place and reading the back cover. It sounded so awesome.

After that it was all downhill.

I started watching in middle school a little with the vhs tapes, and downloaded them again in college, but didn't start becoming a die hard fan until last year.

I watched the first few UFC's on PPV, and thought it was boring. Over the years I had rented a lot of the Tapes or DVD's at the videostore, but still wasn't a die hard, as it stil didn't provide consitent excitement. Thgere would always be a moment , or fight or 2 , that would intrigue me enough to rent the tapes when they came out. I saw Tito vs Randy PPV at a buddy's house, but he payed for it, and it was a last moment invite I lucked into. The Chuck/Tito 1 was the first fight I made plans in advance to go over to someones house and see it, but I still wasn't a die hard. TUF 1 actually got me more focused on it and the Griffin/Bonnar fight sold a lot of my close friends. Since then, I have bought every DVD UFC/Pride I could get my hands on, and we have large MMA parties at my house on the bigscreen.

Casper Events Center - Casper, WY

Elimination Tournament
Tank Abbott vs. John Matua
Paul Varelans vs. Cal Worsham
Pat Smith vs. Rudyard Moncayo
Oleg Taktarov vs. Dave Beneteau

Superfight
Ken Shamrock vs. Dan Severn

my home town, we were 18-19 yrs old and had tickets 9 rows from the ring right on the walk way. we got there an hour before the start and met John Matua's trainer. He was talking all kinds of trash about how John was gonna break one of Tanks bones. I can still hear the sicking thud when Tank hit Matua. he laid on the mat for over 35 minutes before they got the stretcher. We all wanted Pat Smith to win cause he was from Co. as close to a hometown guy as we could get, but he got put out in the semi's. I remember after Ken beat Dan he walked back up the walk way and i screamed " your the man Ken!!!" " he looked me right in the eye and Yelled " your damn right son" and shook my hand. Haven't missed a fight since.

Thats a great story dude!

I bet you thought you were kidding when you wrote that, but...

Bloodsport.

No, seriously. When I saw that movie, I thought "how cool would it be if there was a freestyle martial arts tournament where all the different styles were matched against each other?"

So you could say that I've been into MMA, in a manner of speaking, since 1988.

The first real MMA match I saw was Royce Gracie vs. Kimo, which I think was UFC 3 or 4, but I saw that on a tape, in '95.

It was love at first sight when the local Blockbuster started having a few VHS tapes of early UFCs...Royce Gracie's BJJ was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen.

I'll be brave and admit that I didn't follow MMA until I saw TUF 3 on TV though - love it or hate it, you get hooked watching these guys. The show works for me.

Bloodsport may have been it for me too. Sure I was only 9 at the time but I loved that movie. Hell, I watched it a few weeks ago and even though it's terrible in many ways, it's fantastic in many more. I do actually remember watching the first few UFC's and thinking it was genius.

OK USA!

I wonder how Frank Dukes would have done in UFC 1.

I was on and off during the First Tito Shamrock fights, I knew about the UFC beforehand but it was mostly thru my interest of Ken Shamrock and watching a few of his fights. I didnt really get into to it until I discovered PrideFc...and I was like OMGWTFBBQ? did that guy just cartwheel flip over that other guy?!!!

I got into it summer of 2004 when my trainer at my gym was a ultimate fighter. Little did I know my trainer who showed me K-1 fights and Pride fights would be on TUF 5 called Robert Emerson haha! So yeah my first live event was UFC 48 I believe with Shammy Ko'ing Kimo.

iT was '05, it was funny the first match i watched was Fedor vs Cro-cop and the announcers were talking about how feared and dangerous cro-cop was. BUt all i saw was fedor's domination and at first i thought cro-cop was a chump, ended up losing 20 bucks on a bet against cro-cop later on.

I've actually been a fan since the first one came out. I was like 12 years old and my parents and my lil bro thought it was cool as hell. I followed it on and off till September of 2005. My lil bro and I were busting each others chops and I dared him to do a fight. I told him I would set him up with one if he'd fight. He did and a year and a half or so later we're still doing it. Now I am an absolute fanatic.
