I miss the good ol' Thug-jitsu master himself Yves Edwards. . .

And I can't forget the Mayhem monkey himself Mayhem Miller. . .

How about you guys. . .Who do you miss or what fighters were great that you think dropped off the map according to MMA standards?

Hell yeah! You can't help but miss the Ukraine Freight Train! Hes one of my all-time favorites.

I wish Don Frye would have one more fight, but I doubt that'll happen.

I'd say Frank Shamrock, but he started fighting again.

Fedor Emelianenko. I'd love to see him fight in the big leagues again.

Who else but the shooto junkie himself, Ryuta Matsune. I really wish this guy could get healthy and the injury bug would quit biting. Sure he's still only 25 but he's spent way too much time out of action. Other than that Igor Vovchancyn is the obvious choice to me. I'll also miss Joachim hansen greatly if no one offers him a good contract and he heads back to Norway to Box.

Joacim is a good one, although I don't think he could hang in UFC to be honest. Hes got plenty of power, but he doesn't have the speed of most of the lightweights and would get outclassed on the ground in a hurry.

Agree to disagree I guess. Personally I think Joachim Finishes almost every fighter the UFC has inside of two rounds, and embarrasses half if not more of them inside of one. Why? Because he's the man. The only real exception here is BJ Penn, and even then if Joachim has been drilling Takedown defense like he should and has improved his submission defense (The only part of his grappling that you argue is at all exceptionally weak) then he could take BJ to a decision. Which he would lose. Joachim has a focused Intensity and aggression that a lot of these young guys have never even seen or much less trained for, he's well rounded but not spectacular on the ground, has a good chin, and is freakishly strong and strikes very well. Bottom line, in my book a focused in shape Joachim would make the vast majority of the UFC LW division look laughable on his way to a title shot. That is if the UFC ever decides to come back with an offer that isn't absolute f@#%ing peanuts.

Don't get me wrong, I think Hansen is a great fighter. Its just that A) The lightweight division is easily the UFCs best division, and B) Most of the guys in it are bad matches for him. Guys like Florian, Guida, and Thomas would work him to death in short order I think.

On the other hand, I think he'd be a very bad match for Huerta and Daddy Stevenson, as hes the more powerful striker and neither have the speed or sub skills to be a serious threat to him. He'd probably put Huerta to sleep in short order and tko Stevenson late in the fight.

Igor Vovchanchyn, Fedor, would love to see those guys fighting again. I think we will see Fedor again, I have no idea what Vovchanchyn is doing these days. He is probably a hitman or something, he could kill people in secure areas without guns easily, his overhand right could kill any man, if the price is right

The Crow and Evan Tanner would help out the MW division for sure...even though the Crow didnt do so hot the first time around, I still miss the guy.

I also miss Pedro Rizzo a little...he was always a tough guy to fight and of course I think Matt Lindland is a pretty damn good fighter and I would like to see him also.

Rizzo was the first name that popped into my head... I don't know if I just missed it, or if no one talked about him TKOing Monson at the begining of the month?

Iggy is a good choice as well... As is Yves... I'd alos like to see some of the standout LW's from Pride fighting again... ie) Gomi, Kawajiri, Hansen, Aoki... etc...

AND HEY!!!! WHERE THE HELL IS GILBERT MELENDEZ????
