My mind is blown away.

I know some of you will claim my mind was blown for some time now 
but really - this time, it has blown to new heights which I cannot begin to fathom.
Where do I begin? Oh yes, I was bored and decided to revisit an episode of River Monsters. My TV guide said River Monsters was showing at 8:00 PM Pacific time. I said PERFECT. Let's get it on.
So I turned to Animal Planet at exactly 8:01 PM. I began watching. Immediately, I realized something was not right. This show I'm watching is definitely not River Monsters but I kept watching because the opening scene caught my curiosity.
I don't know if what I just watched was propaganda or it was indeed real. Never have I encountered something on TV that was as profound as what I just watched.
I just watched a documentary, part theoretical and part scientific, on the discovery of mermaids. Yes, I said mermaids.
In 2004 or 2007, a mermaid was washed away to shore on the beach of Washington state along with many other whales. The U.S. Navy immediately surrounded the beach and took a body away. However, there were two boys there who saw and video taped the BODY before the Navy could close the beach. The Navy convinced the boys it was a manatee but little did they know - the boys had already video taped the body.
A few years later, more whales washed up to shore in Africa. And this time, a team of scientists was able to get there in a timely manner and uncovered a strange corpse. The corpse had humanoid and aquatic mammal features.
I'm not going to retell the whole show. At the end of the show, they finally revealed the entire segment of the video - taped by the two boys from Washington.
I don't know what to believe. Like I said, my mind is blown if it wasn't blown already.

There's a reason why it's on Cable television, and not CNN news or whatever. I never get into stuff like that, I do enjoy the show Fact or faked though.

I know what you're saying but this was on Animal Planet. It was like watching a scientific documentary. The video looks EXTREMELY REAL. I have seen many fake videos before and I can recognize them in a heart beat but this one looks genuine.
I wish you could have seen the documentary. There are more proofs than the video itself.

it is all fake. Sorry to burst your bubble. I thought it was real as well and was very disappointed by the news of it being fake.

True but let's remember we all though Santa was real, and some of us WWE. People can be persuaded with the right information. But hey, I didn't see it, but the whole "Government came in just in time to get it out" has been used a lot. Still sounds interesting!

The thread title confuses me. "My mind is blown away"
I feel as though it should say :
"My mind is blown."
"My mind has been blown away."
"My mind has been blown."
Something about the current context of "is" and the motion associated with "away" makes it read like a still picture that's moving.

We get mermaids washing up on the beach all the time in Washington, no big deal. When I go grocery shopping, half the time there's a sasquatch shopping for groceries too.

I'll admit I bit hard when they tossed the bait but in my defense - the show was presented in documentary form. They had actors playing scientists. They brought in specialists to confirm the findings etc. Everything was presented as fact.
