i think he should have buufed up at 185. He has problems with wrestlers( there are more good ones at this weight) and he has 2 teammates ( Fitch, Kos) that are contenders he won't fight. Just seems like a overcompensation for the Okami loss IMO.

swick will have to prove himself in the WW, it is not because he was fighting in MW that he will destroy everybody in the WW like that !!

i don't think he can beat Hughes , GSP , Fitch , and i even think that he will have difficulty to beat Alves who is at the #10 spot in my ranking for now !!

AGREE 100%!!!

I think he could be a force but just like Tito he has trouble against the better grapplers. you have GSP , Hughes, Fitch Karo, Kos and even Serra who have better grappling games that would beat him.

You already have 2 successful teammates down there so unless they want to create hell at that camp he should buff up at 185 or have Kos move back up because Kos could be good too and I don't think either of them could beat Fitch or GSP.

He needs to move back up or face more losses..

IMO i think swick should stay at 185 and just focus on wrestling for a while and get better at that because he has good bjj and hes got good standup but making the cut to 170 might make him weak plus he couldnt beat hughes, gsp, or fitch

i thought swick was going to be the next contender at MW until he ran into okami. after that fight i realized the strength difference between him and the other fighters. if he couldn't handle okami's strength, then what about franklin or the KO machine silva? i think he has found himself in a bind, if he drops down to the WW division he will find that WW is the most stacked division the ufc has and realize that there is no room for him, especially with his teammates holding top spots. if he stays at MW, then he will have to face that strength advantage that most of the fighters enjoy over him. so my advice to swick would be to hit the gym and work on your strength because there is no room for you in WW and your a little weak for MW.

this is another case of a guy dropping and thinking that will somehow make him a better fighter. i went on a rant about this in a thread about kimbo dropping to 205, and im not going to rehash the whole thing, but basically i think its a shame that people think dropping weight makes them somehow better. a guy that was in the weakest division in the ufc drops to arguably the toughest rather than working on improving his skillset, and physical tools, its like looking for a get rich quick scheme.

mike will get killed at ww.

guys like diego, fitch, karo would take him down at will.

Guys like kos, hughes and gsp would take him down with incredible ease.

Sure it may be a better weight class for him but when you consider the stacked talent that consist's of fighters that can expose his weakness(wrestling) its a far worse place to be for mike.

I agree with most of the posters here, he's a very good fighter, but he's moving into a staked Weight Class. He's a good guy though and I root for him.
